I went to the shop for a couple of bits before Darren and I set off for Scarborough, got myself some flowers as I haven’t had any for a while.
Last night Tina discovered that blue had an abscess and Darren made an appointment for the vet this morning. We made sure that she was in the cat carrier before Darren and I set off for Scarborough. Darren had a gaming club meeting and I was just going to take a walk round the town and see some of the sights I haven’t seen for a while. Have cut the photos down a lot from the amount I took so fingers crossed I can do the post without too many problems. Good weather today and we had a remarkably traffic free ride into the town considering how close to Christmas it is. We had lunch at Sainsbury’s and again, it wasn’t as busy as we’d expected. Darren went off in the car and I walked into town first. I did buy some nuts at Grapetree, I used to go there a lot. I walked down Bar street to have a look at South Bay.
I walked down to Boyes, had a quick look round and then headed up towards the cliffs over North Bay. Had thought about seeing if the ceramic studio was open but met one of Sandy’s friends who said it was closed so just went straight to the cliff tops.
I took those pictures walking down the cliff path, I had forgotten just how much walking that nailed as it meanders back and forth. Saw the waves crashing against the see wall from there too.
Another one of crashing waves with the castle in the background.
I got myself a drink and took it into Peasholm Park, still love to see the pagoda.
From there I walked into th glen, realised then just how lovely Scarborough is and how I miss the walks, especially in the glen. A new sculpture at the entrance.
A couple of shots as I made my way along.
Another nice sculpture that I had seen before.
Another shot, I had so many to choose from!
I made it all the way up to the top wher there is a pond.
I walked back down to the park and sat for a while just enjoying it and the went and found a cafe open had had tea and cake. Darren collected me ther and we dropped a present off for Tina before we made the journey home.
I really enjoyed wandering round and being more mobile managed to cover quite a lot of ground.
I really do think that light makes a nice addition the sunrises. I look forward to seeing it in your sky shots now. Lots of pics today too, that’s always good. Nice to see some of Scarborough again. It is such a lovely place with lots of things to see and do. Lots of photo opportunities too. You picked a good day to go considering the weather we’ve had recently. I’ve always liked Peasholm Park. It doesn’t seem to matter how often you walk through there it’s always interesting. Were there many squirrels today?
ReplyDeleteThe sea looked a bit choppy. I bet even those lunatic surfers weren’t in there today!
The lamp is certainly better that the chimney and aerial!
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see those old haunts and very lucky with the weather.
Only saw one squirrel who looked at me hopefully but I had nothing with me....
