Bit of a non day!

Today has been taken up mostly with family issues so my phone has been red hot. I also had to stay in as Tina was expecting a delivery for the parish hall which didn’t arrive until getting on for three. I did go out briefly after that  as we needed a couple of groceries and I wanted to go to Botany Boutique to get some terrarium supplies as I have quite a few plants that need to be put in something. I will make some up and then find people to give them to!
So no photos at all today and not much news really!
I had the injection in my knee yesterday afternoon, it felt a little less painful in the night but was worse this morning! It does seem to have eased off a bit during the day so fingers crossed it will help a bit.
My friend Rachel from Peterborough is driving up tomorrow to spend a couple of days with me which is really lovely.
I watch The Traitors last night and thought it was really good, so looking forward to this evenings episode and seeing who the first person to be ‘murdered’ was.
Hopefully will be snap happy again tomorrow!

Some walking and a jab!

I had been contemplating a longish walk but decided to try and get an appointment at the doctors to have a injunction in my right knee, which has been getting more painful. When I got through the receptionist was helpful and said they have a new member of staff, Emma, who can do the steroid injections and she could fit me in this afternoon! So, decided I would walk up to Freeport and back as I would be walking to the surgery later. There is a huge fatsia japonica at Freeport and the autumnal blooms are gorgeous,

The stable at Freeport is not assembled yet, but the lovely one t the church is now on display.
I walked to the doctors and Emma was really lovely and after the usual barrage of questions she did the injection in my knee, the fact that it is more painful than before but hopefully that is temporary! I did go and look at the sea, the light was quite unusual.
Well, the match tonight would have a job to be worse than the one at the weekend! So come on boys, give us a show.

Discharged and hopeful!

This morning I had a package to send and walked to the sea before going to the post office.
There are lots of starlings on the front and today they were having a fine old time in and out of the council rubbish collection truck,

I had a cuppa but sat outside as I love the new top but really have to fight to get it off!
After I had been to the post office I decided to walk the roads that go round the outside of the park to make the walk a little longer. This man was definitely up the pole!
For a while squirrels have been managing to get into the greenhouse through a very slightly open window and knock everything over as well s getting to the bird food! Yesterday was no exception so I shut the window. When I went down today to decant some food I found complete mayhem nd a squirrel that had been shut in! Quite okay I hasten to add, and we’ll fed, but frantic at the sight of me and it was a while before it went out via the door! The plants were all knocked over, all the sun protections down and a cushion unstuffed! Play seed and label and compost everywhere, as I said, mayhem. I am fairly sure there wasn’t another one hiding somewhere but will make sure tomorrow!
After lunch Tina had an appointment near Freeport so offered to drop me off there. I had a look in a couple of shops and had a drink before she collected me. I have proof that the naff nativity is indeed going to make an appearance again this year,
This yucca up there was looking lovely,
Tina was driving me into Hull for my appointment at the hospital this evening. As the appointment was for six we left early and had tea near the hospital as the traffic around Hull in the evenings is pretty bad. We had time to look in the pet shop ns admire the cut Guinea pigs,
In on time for the appointment this evening, Mr Haeney is happy with how the hand is healing and that I still have no night pain. I haven’t got any more appointments but he has said any worries and I can phone direct. He said he was optimistic that the numbness may improve a bit, but even if it doesn’t it has been a good decision to have it redone,

Boot sale, sea and a bit of gardening,

Darren did take me along to the boot sale this morning, not a lot of stalls and our usual sandwich place was closed, but we enjoyed a wander round and I just bought a couple of sundae dishes and an Ann Cleeves book. We were back home before nine so I decided to walk down to the sea front. A bit grey today, but not too cold.

After lunch I spent over an hour in the garden. Just pruning and cutting back dead plants in the front, just down one side wall. Didn’t take pics but by the time I had finished the garden bin was full!
While I was getting dinner I noticed the sky getting pink so nipped out. It fades really quickly.

The next one isn’t pink but I could see the blackbird that was serenading me!

When I came up after dinner someone was looking very comfy and cute on my rocking chair!
I tried to screen shot my step page on the Fitbit but think I saved it as a video! But will put it on as it is unlikely I will have to weeks with such numbers again!

Day trip to Hull

I caught a fairly early bus into Hull for no particular reason, just felt like a change of scene. One photo on the way in, I love the graffiti and painted shutters.
In St Stephens there was a massive queue outside one of stores, unbelievably it was the vintage shop that had a 20% off everything!
Some Christmas decks.
In The Prospect Centre the shop where they display the carnival masks was open so had a look round.

I had a silly photo, surprise, and bought an original piece of art very cheaply. Found a frame for it when I got home.

I then went for a walk towards the funky bridge, I had been going to stop there but went over and took a different direction the other side.

Discovered another puffin off the beaten track!

I walked as far as I could and on full zoom for the phone you can see the bridge in the distance Mike!

Loved this statue so have included two of the descriptions.

This display board was on the way back to the bridge.
I passed the shop with the top I liked, they had a buy one get one half price offer, I went in and said it was a pity it was that offer and not a discount and the lovely lady knocked 20% off for me!
This building I pass when on the bus home is in definite need of attention!
Haven’t done a great deal since being home and watching Strictly now.

A short walk and lights night!

I went to see Bel this morning, she is still doing well although I think she is finding it harder to be motivated and get out for a bit. But she keeps her house lovely and enjoys her reading and jigsaws and she was off to have her hair washed and set this afternoon. I got something for lunch on my way home.
After lunch I decided to walk to the front despite the fact that my right knee has been getting more painful just lately. It was a lovely day, so good to be put for a bit anyway. Did take some pics, reasonably busy but maybe people were gathering so that they would be around for Lights night.

Photos put of sync, I took a couple of pics of the post box on the way to the front.

And sitting in my rocking chair this morning I noticed the sun catching the butterflies I made at the glass art day. The photo actually shows it quite well, which surprised me.
The have quite good window displays in one of the charity shops.
I finished the Richard Osman book, really good, before heading to the church to see if they needed an extra helper. They didn’t but I walked round and took some photos and chatted to some of the helpers.

Tina said there had been quite a few comment about my tree when she came in.
I walked up and down the street, which is closed for the evening, very busy.

Watching the pretty dull football now, well, half watching it!
