Homeward bound

Yesterday a couple of the things I bought were a hand bound small sketch book and one of the coasters made from climbing ropes. This morning I did a small pencil sketch in the book as I was up early. Whether I continue to use it is another matter!
We were packed and ready to leave before ten, and although it wasn’t exactly a lovely day but dry and hopefully not misty, so we went up to the Surprise View car park again. The view wasn’t a lot different, but took some more pics anyway.
And Tina took one of the rollator enjoying the view!
We then went to Meadowhall and visited a couple of interesting shops and bought some bits. In one you got token and the shop was full of machines with little models or kits in plastic balls. Definitely aimed at adults as I got a but and Tina ended up assembling it as the bits were very hard to fit together. Sort of balls and sockets but very very had to connect!
We had a very nice lunch at Wagamama and then journeyed home.
My different weeding tall had arrived, you buy the attachments separately and they all fit onto one pole. The pole is a little on the large side for me!
A lovely little break and we are both quite keen to spend more time in Sheffield.

A great day in Sheffield

A photo of the garden here this morning, woke up to a grey day but the rain stayed away which was good.
I love these place mats that the host has, made from old climbing ropes. I did manage to buy myself one but won’t add the photo as I have more than enough for today.
Tina had booked a place in a car park before we left the flat, so no getting tickets, just let in when we arrived. Although getting there was fun as the satnav kept trying to get up to go through a bus gate! A nice view when we went out, some great water features and then into the Winter gardens.
Oh, and the fab car park building!
The Millennium Museum was fantastic, with several different exhibitions, so a few pics from there.
We had a walk through the city centre to the cathedral, had lunch there then looked at amazing banners depicting The Creation and he cathedral building.
Some interesting stonework and a tram on the way back to the car park.
Then we made our au out of the city to The Surprise View Car Park! The journey there was a little stressful as the Satnav and
Google maps couldn’t find us and sent us on wild goose chases. But we did find out was there. You had to walk along a path and by then it was quite misty but still pretty stunning.

Luckily the Satnav had found us by the time we headed back to the city! We have had tea and just relaxing now.

Quiet day and latish travel

Off out fairly early again as I had a card to post, which would have arrived after the birthday! During the morning I did some chores and got my stuff ready to take on our trip later. After lunchI did go and see Sher at the shop for a while. Tina was at a meeting and got home about 3.15pm and we had hoped to leave about four but  there was a bit of a hitch. The accommodation host had not sent the entry code so Tina phoned him and was told that the lift wasn’t working and the apartment was on the sixth floor! Tina explained this was not possible for us. More phone calls and messages but got a last minute basement studio flat, so we were away a bit later but still had somewhere to go. The journey was fine but it was rainy again. I hadn’t realised Sheffield was so hilly, so maybe not th best idea on my part!
One pic from the car as we drove through ugh the city.
And three of the studio flat, the pull down bed is behind the huge map!
Lindsey’s the host, got it ready for us in a hurry and made us very welcome when we arrived.
Will decide what to do tomorrow when we see what the weather is like.
