Must stop having bright ideas!

This morning I walked up to the DIY shop as I wanted to get some more flexible wire as I had decided I would try and wire the canes, I had drilled some holes in the top of the broom handle before I went out. The shop was closed and not opening again until the 17th. Good start! I decided to make a walk of it as I was out so made my way to the Tesco car park to take the path up to the trail. Quite a decent walk now. Saw an unusual vehicle in the car park as I walked through.

A lovely hydrangea as I neared the sea front.
The sea wasn’t too inviting today.
I called into the pet cum florist shop on the way back and got some florist wire and garden wire. Got on with wiring the tree, took a while, and put sone of the knitted garland I already had down a couple of wires and an ornament I decorated on the top!
After lunch I cleaned and decorated a suitable pot that had been in the garden for ages.
I went into the garden to cut down some dead plants as tomorrow is garden bin day. Then I came in and started to put white Das round the base of the tree, then made sure it was reasonably straight and am now leaving it to dry.

I am knitting another garland and will hopefully get it long enough to decorate the other wires.
I made myself pesto salmon and tomatoes in the air fryer, just nine minutes. Really lovely.
I have been to see Sarah and David this evening. I was up early so won’t be late to bed.

Great terrarium session!

Yesterday evening I went to Botany Boutique to attend an open terrarium making session. Just me and the instructor as two people had cancelled but she was happy to carry on with me. She supplied all the equipment and plants and I was allowed to take a container of my own so that I would end up with two pieces. We got on really well, had some laughs, and I am delighted with my terrariums. I bought some bits as I got 10% off for the evening. I can email her with any queries, or, just pop on as it isn’t far away.

Went to the boot sale with Darren, not quite as busy today but I got the bargain of the day, maybe the year! This rug, which is new, for £1, the cart is Pandora, not part of the pattern!
I bought a gadget a while ago to make removing ring pull can tops easier. I tried it today and the pull pinged off! Had to open it at the bottom with the can opener!
I have spent a bit of time and a whole bottle of glue trying to make the tree secure. I am still unconvinced that it will cope with the weight of the decorations, but I have a plan!
Tina sent me a photo from five years ago today , stinting in the kitchen here just before we moved in!
How time flies!

Early walk, couldn’t see the sun rise! Then some craft.

I was up feeding the birds really early so checked the time of sunrise and walked down to the sea. I took some shots of the beach but there was too much cloudy and not a lot of colour. It was good to have a walk on the beach though, it started to rain on the way back. The memorial gardens now has more leaves on the ground than on the trees!

Tina is involved with a Halloween party on o day night and I have been making spiders for one of the games. She had a bag of different pipe cleaners! Pandora loved them and they kept her entertained for some time!

The curtain pole was put up yesterday so Darren hung the long curtains I made from four curtains up today, should make a huge difference in that sitting room.
I am still battling with the tree, and have looked to see how many hand made decorations I have! Plenty it seems and I have knitted about two feet of tinsel now! I also got the hedgehog motif made up into a cushion cover!
So a pretty productive day and off to make an open terrarium or two this evening, one to one with the instructor as the other ladies cancelled.

Maybe it will work!

I had pretty much given up on making a twig tree but this morning the first spray of canes seemed to be fairly stable after more glue and florist tape! So am now trying to fix a second spray and see hat happens!
It rained for a while this morning so Bel asked if I minded going round to her place. I was happy to and although she doesn’t have internet I as able to do some research for her present for her nephew in Jersey using my phone. She has a number to phone to try and order a delivery for him now. I was telling her that I would need to knit some tinsel for the tree and she gave me some very fine gold and silver thread. I thought I would see if the charity shops had some odd balls of sparkly wool so left early to walk to Jean’s. I was forgetting that we do still have a craft place in Hornsea at the back of the
Boyes store, so went in there and managed to buy a ball of Christmas wool that has silver flecks through it,
I went via the sea to Jean’s house, very clear day today.

I have started knitting but off to check the tree now!
There was a pretty sky this evening.

Wet walk and out with Tina

When Ifed the birds very early with the help of the garden light there was very light rain. As the day progressed the rain got heavier. I went out to post a letter for Tina and also to take a cd I had bought for David and Sarah,  they were out so I put it in their post box. I decided them to make a walk of it as I can’t be a fair weather walking now winter is getting close! I went through the park, still lovely in the wet and very few dog walkers today.

You have to be careful on those leaves in the wet!
I did try to stabilise the first set of canes on the broom handle, not convinced I am going to make it work, but I have tried!
Tina had an eye appointment in Beverley so we set off in good time. The rain was really heavy as we drove there. I looked in a couple of shops before making my way to Boots to wit for her. Then we went to have some lunch before making out way back to the car. I took a couple of pictures of the road as we went back.

Tina had taken Darren to work this morning and we were collecting him from work and dropping him off at the garage to collect his car. We were too early so made our way to Sandhill garden centre which is a few minutes away from the power station. Just one photo of a Christmas display but I did end up buying a tree, not a twig one, as back up in case all else fails!
We had a drink and then went off to collect Darren. I have never been to Salt End power station so had to take some photos!

Passed this pub on the way home, I liked the sign.
Haven’t done a great deal this evening and feeling quite tired. Did do a bit of pedalling!
Visiting day tomorrow, well, Bel will come here if it isn’t raining,
