Watercolour workshop and face painting!

I took a picture of the morning sky yesterday but didn’t post it.
Yesterday evening I was clearing in the bedroom and let Pandora come in with me. She was running riot and at one point tried to scale the blind which I had just lowered. When she fell off  she luckily didn’t break anything, land on the coffee trees or dislodge the blind! After that she flakes out on my bed, no way she was staying in my bedroom over night though!
Another picture out of the window this morning.
Then I was off to the third watercolour workshop, reflections this time. I enjoyed it and reasonably happy with my results today.

When I came home Tina and I went to have lunch in a pub in Skipsea. The service was a bit slow but really tasty when it arrived. There were some of the little ‘sweet shop style ‘ windows and they were catching the light to make great patterns on the wall.
This evening I went to the parish hall to help with the activities for the pumpkin trail. I was on the face painting table. We only had five different colours and they were in tubes and very greasy. I am sure that some are chalk based and easier to use. Judy tried putting a spider on my face.
She wouldn’t be painted though! We didn’t have many wanting to be painted, probably my best attempt was the snake!
Tina is still out, they were following the pumpkins through the town and having more fun at the URC.
Best go get this paint washed off!!

Just sea and sky

I was helping at the monthly Living Well lunch this morning, cooking the meal for over thirty with June and then being a ‘table host’ as well. I was pretty tired by the time I had walked home, calling in at the shop on the way home. Kept Pandora company for a while and put my feet up. Tina went off pumpkin carving, she was helped by Steve so when I went to see how they were getting on they were finished and she was on her way home. I had rest d to went off for a walk to the post office and then onto the sea. One shot on the way down.
After sending off a package and getting some stamps I went up to the sea front. Had a cup of hot chocolate and took the rest of today’s pictures.

Not planning to do much this evening, maybe some tidying! Watercolour workshop tomorrow, reflections this time.

Cat stand off sea and Atwick church

This morning all was quiet for a while and then Blue decided to chase Pandora round the house, a spat upstairs and another in the kitchen and then they were about a yard apart motionless, Pandora spitting and growling and Blue looking aloof! They kept it up for a good few minutes and then Blue wandered away and went out! No lumps of fur but obviously upstairs they had been in my sitting room as the jigsaw on the floor had bits scattered everywhere, cannot find one piece!
I went out for a walk when Blue had gone out, took myself down to the front and had a cup of hot chocolate. Very lovely morning and not as cold today.

As I walked along the sea wall I could see that some sort of work was being done on the beach.
This afternoon Tina had to go to Atwick church to check some details so I had a ride along. Not stained glass windows but still effective with the light.

One of the outside and one of a horse in a nearby field!

Took one of the clouds before we drove home.
This afternoon I have actually got around to listing a few things on eBay so fingers crossed I get some bids.
Will finish today with a picture sent to me by a friend of some lovely autumn colours.

Getting comfy and a walk in the rain

Pandora is a scratcher and as she is an upstairs cat for now I decided to sort out some material to make covers to protect my chairs. Found a couple of curtains that I had bought in a sale bin, thinking I would do something with them some time. Often do that sort of thing and have them in boxes forever! Anyway, they went over the chairs and it had the bonus effect of making Pandora seem more settled than she has until now.

After lunch and after Tina had done everything’s no she needed to do out and about I went out for a walk, even though by then it was raining pretty heavily. Both cats were in so that is why we staggered our going out! I walked up to Freeport, very pleased that I had my new rain jacket. The naff nativity is back, but not lit up with the carols yet!
I had a nice hot chocolate drink and then started on my way home, walking again. Polly’s Path wasn’t too bad on the way there but had gone back to being Polly’s pond on the way back! Took a few pics on the way home, you could see that the weather was changing in the distance. Another one of a tree as well.

Managed to get one more shot of the changing sky, I did try and go along the path towards the mere but this was the best I could manage!
I haven’t walked to and from Freeport in quite a while so have had a better step total today than I have had in a few weeks. Went down to see Sarah for a while this evening, back home and Pandora is curled  on the chair again!

Pumpkins and sea!

I spent the morning in the kitchen, well, a lot of the morning anyway. We had bought two culinary pumpkins when we went to the pumpkin farm, so thought I had better do something with them. I knew that Tina needs plenty of pumpkins for a pumpkins trail on Thursday so I scooped them out and even cut them rather than chop them open and get to the flesh that way. Not sure my wrists will ever recover but they are ready for her to use.
Making the pumpkin pie is a lot of messing about and I was not that impressed with the result. Not something I will be doing again in a hurry!

I caught the edge of the pastry with the mixture when it was going in the oven as I was trying to stop Pandora jumping up and burning herself!
When Darren and Tina returned I went out for a walk, I don’t like to leave the cats alone together in the house and the alternative is to lock one in a room which I don’t want to do more than necessary. The puddle in the car park probably shouldn’t be referred to as a puddle!
It was lovely and bright out, but quite a cold wind, and see definitely looked wintry.

I cut back through the park on the way home, more puddles, these look attractive though!
Getting dark when I got home and only around 5 pm.
Strictly results later, should be interesting.

An even wetter day!

It has been a pretty miserable day, wet and cold. I went out quite early and wandered round the town and then caught the bus up to Freeport. My waterproof coat really isn’t so tried all the outdoor wear shops up there and bought a ‘guaranteed’ fully waterproof jacket in the last one. I walked home in quite heavy rain and it did keep my top half dry! Polly’s Path was pretty wet and swimming benches (not literally) and flooded pavements. A few wet pictures!

I have stayed indoors this afternoon. Darren and Tina have gone off to Wyedale for an overnight break and the cats appear to be getting used to each other, well, spitting and growling but nothing worse for a while. The gladioli I bought on Tuesday on the way home from Peterborough are beginning to open up now.
Roll on Strictly!
