Nice little outing

Although Tina had the day off today she had a meeting just after lunch so we headed out early and hd breakfast at Eastfield garden centre. She dropped my outside nd then when and parked the car as the knee is still misbehaving! This nice water feature was outside.
I bought a solar hare ornament and a new bird feeder. Tina splashed out on a new garden swing which will be arriving on Monday.
We sat and had a cuppa in the walled garden, Tina was holding onto this parasol when I took the photo!
I went down the garden to replace the bird feeder, which has given extremely good service but wa ready to fall part!
My leg was painful when I came in so sat and finished my book, then I took a slow walk down the road to see Sarah and David.
Tina did some weeding in the walled garden, she is using the kneeler that I made the large cushion for that was no good for me, but pleased it is good for her. Jayne came and did some weeding so that made me feel guilty not to be gardening myself! Hopefully I will before too long…….
Restful evening now. Bel and Jean are both coming here to visit tomorrow.

Pottering with difficulty!

Apart from my knee being really painful, so somewhat restricted in what I can do, it has still been a nice day. I tried to pull a few weeds in the walled garden, but didn’t keep it up for long. Tina had done quite a bit of clearance one side which is great. I worry when the weeds got too big as I don’t want frogs hiding under them when they are damp! I sat on the garden swing for a bit and took another picture of the sunflowers from there. They are pretty spectacular this year.
A few garden pics.
I managed to walk as far as the coop, which isn’t very far at all, I won’t be walking to the sea front any time soon!
I have been having a play with the French knitting. Had forgotten how to start it off and it unravelled a bit until I tied a knot. Have looked on line so I start properly next time!
I had a bulk delivery of bird food supplies but waited for Darren to get home to get it moved to the bottom on the garden, then I got it all into containers and stored away in the dustbins. I am reading a creepy book, and did watch an episode of Annika on catch up so that I can watch the new episode later this evening.

Hello again

I have been away for three weeks helping out with family issues but returned home yesterday. I had a weekend break from helping out and saw a bit of St Ives so will start with a couple of photos from there.
I also managed to see Anya on her birthday, which was lovely. A three generations photo!
We played dominoes and Aurora looked on!
A couple of pics of a different bug!
I came home yesterday evening and brought a giant French knitting frame given to me by a friend.
Tina had bought me a little felted pig and a cushion cover that she got a Ikea.
Darren had been finding bargains at the boot sale. I great little folding table, a photo of the Humber Bridge and a double dvd, Poirot as well as Marple.
This morning I cut the courgettes that had become marrows!
The sunflowers are really tall now, the second photo from the bedroom window shows how they are dwarfing the greenhouse.
My leg was getting worse towards the end of last week and no improvement so far, so probably won’t be getting out and about too much for a while.
Good to be back and I will endeavour to find things to take pictures of!

Bye for now

Have decided to go ‘off grid’ for a while.off to sort things out that will be of little interest to anyone else. May even call it a day, been writing it for over nine years now and although I get views have never managed to get any followerers. My email is the same for any friends that what to keep in touch.
So, bye for now.

Wet,wet,wet!

The rain started off quite lightly today and pretty much got heavier as the day went on. We went to the cafe on site but drove there this morning for breakfast! That was enjoyable and we came back and watched the rain for a bit.
Yesterday evening I started a ridiculously difficult jigsaw, only one hundred pieces butI knew it would be a challenge. We bought it at the antique/curio place the other day.
I managed to get the edges done last night and this morning I sorted the pieces into shapes.
Took awhile but did finish it!
This is the view while we had breakfast.
We took a drive to Cherry Lane garden centre for a wander round and no plants, bulbs, or bird supplies came out with us!
Then we drove to Hornsea Cottage Hospital as as having a chest X-ray. I sat in the car!
The weather was still miserable and as we passed Wassand Hall it said it was open today so we went in. Got drenched on the long walk to the hall but it was very interesting as it is still a family home. Sadly no photography allowed. But we went to the walled garden where there are refreshments and had tea and cake. Took photos in the cacti house and a few in the walled garden.
Still tipping down outside, we got pretty wet today but may venture into the hot tub, not decided yet, but last chance. Will be getting sorted then as we go home in the morning,

Fairly quiet day

This morning after breakfast I went for a walk complete with sketchbook. Passed these geese on the way to the grass you can walk on near the fishing lake.
I started a sketch but hadn’t really thought it through. Although I can sit on the rollator I couldn’t reach the paints if I wanted to colour the sketch.  I did try to add a bit of colour but in the end finished it off back at the lodge.
When I came back I walked to the cafe with Tina and we had a nice coffee and piece of cake.
This afternoon I decided to go for a walk and walked through the park and out onto the road. Well, strictly speaking the pavement by the road! It seemed to be threatening rain.
Took some pics in a lay by.
There was quit a wild are along the way.
Back in the lay by I noticed this tree.
Back at the lodge the swans and then moorhens came on to the grass area opposite.
We fancied a short trip out so made out way to the River Hull. Over the bridge and then a bit of a walk, not that far as it was very uneven ground and I did struggle a bit with the rollator.
We came back and cooked tea. Relaxing now and we will go in the hot tub again in a bit.
