Wednesday 31 August 2016

Much quieter day today, Isobel slept in really late and then didn't want to go to the beach or the pool, or even out of the caravan. She did play outside with the water pistol for a bit and the bubble wand.
We also sat and made a dinosaur model made of a green rubbery material!
The finished article is quite fragile so I will try and get it home in one piece and glue it before Isobel takes it home.
We did go to the pool this afternoon and then went in the arcade again. We got quite a lot of prize tickets and Isobel was pleased with her choice.
I liked this odd bit of sky when we were making out way back to the caravan.
Darren is joining us for the day tomorrow which will be nice.

Tuesday 30 August 2016

Tina came over to take us out this morning. We went to Playdale Park Farm, a great place with lots of different activities. Various animals, many that you could feed and pet.

The white chinchilla was so cute! They had a crazy game of frisbie golf, lots of running around involved!

A close up of a lovely young lady.
There were paly areas, indoors and out, and a straw barn.
We had some lunch there and then went to Bempton Cliffs as Tina hadn't been there before.

After a cuppa with Tina and a bit of a rest we went back to the arcade for a bit and then had a game on the crazy golf.
We made some cookies and Isobel decorated them.
They are very tasty!
A long, hot and pretty tiring day, but Isobel has had a good time.

Monday 29 August 2016

We got away fairly promptly this morning, the weather was set fair, and after a little hunting Anya found a parking area at the top of the cliff at Cayton Bay. The walk down was ridiculously steep, but I managed to get down if a little way behind the fitter, younger ones! Isobel is always happy on the beach, and today the weather was kind too.

We stayed for a couple of hours, the walk up the hill nearly finished me of, I set off before Anya and Isobel.

Anya helped up get settled in and had a bit of lunch before she set off home. We had a  go at making a fruit jelly after we had been over to the arcade and play park.
We took another walk over to the arcade this evening because Isobel had noticed when the prize collection kiosk was open! She got a dream catcher key ring.
Little lady is showered and in bed now, time to rest up for another full day tomorrow!

Sunday 28 August 2016

It rained pretty much all day but has become quite lovely this evening. We didn't go to the boot sale, but Darren did take me to Sainsbury's to do some last minute shopping for some last minute bits. Anya and Isobel arrived about 3.30 pm and we have relaxed and just been down to the beach.
Tina came down and went down to the sea with her.
Nice to see some pink sky near the castle for a change.
Isobel has just been having fun in the shower. Off to Cayton tomorrow for our caravan holiday.

Saturday 27 August 2016

Yesterday evening brought another lovely sunset, but no pics tonight as it is grey and pouring with rain.

I forgot that there was a concert in the park until the fireworks started. Had a pretty good view and managed to get a few reasonable pictures.

I have been struggling with pain a bit today, my knee worse than the ankle this time. So bussed into town and back, I wanted to get a few bit for the stay in the caravan with Isobel. Waiting at the bus stop I was looking at the shop at the end of our road and the row of houses from it. They had a drawing of the terrace in the shop the other day and it made me think how we don't really look at what is on our doorstep.
I have rested up this afternoon and watched some tv, then started to get things ready for Anya and Isobel arriving tomorrow. You know that I bought a proper cat bed for Charlie, which has not been looked at by any of the cats. I bought a new case a couple of weeks ago and today took a piece of cardboard out when I opened it up. You may guess what is coming, no explanation needed.
C'est la vie! The Casualty anniversary episode tonight so looking forward to that.

Friday 26 August 2016

This morning I walked into town to catch the bus to the hospital. Meera, the physio is really lovely, but is still at a loss as to what to suggest to help with the pain. She examined my ankle and took measurements to test the movement again. The movement is now about the same as the other, so the exercise has done some good, but has done nothing for the pain! I have an appointment with the doctor in about 10 days so will see what he suggests. I can phone Meera if he needs a report doing or if he wants me to return to physio, but at the moment no more appointments made. Darren was picking me up from the hospital at the North entrance so that we could meet Tina for lunch and do a bit of shopping. Tina had to put the car in for it's MOT so we were meeting at McDonalds near the garage. I have no idea what these chimneys are for at that side of the hospital.
This van, or I should say the name on the van, just amused me as I waited!
After lunch and shopping at a couple of stores Darren and I brought the shopping home. Darren had to drop me on the street as there were no spaces due to the ongoing cricket match. I was feeling quite achy by then, usually am when my ankle has been poked and prodded. So I have watched another Liam Neeson film that I bought at a boot sale. This one was called Seraphim Falls and was a gritty western. Charlie had been relaxing on the landing, it was a little livelier when Blue joined the party!
Not a good picture as the light was bad, but you get the idea.
A few more Just So pictures I think. A great show imitating a silent movie.

It was fantastic, the highlight of the weekend for me I think. There was an ice cream van covered in knitting.
And a fun show in the woodland theatre.

It was about archaeology and very funny, the lady had been going around with pretend poo in the photo and dropping it around the audience!! Dinner is smelling good, so heading downstairs now.

Thursday 25 August 2016

The sky was great last night, so that was really feeling at home!

I did see a lovely sunrise while I was in Peterborough as well.
Today Tina took me into town, I had tickets to collect from the station and a list of things before I went to collect my new glasses. I have had the same style for four or five years now and this time I have different frames.
Back to Just so now, We saw a great show with just one lad doing a dance/humour skit around a telephone box.

The lady was in the audience and had to pretend to be sending romantic texts, she was a really good sport. Anya and Isobel had a go at roasting marshmallows.

On Saturday morning we all joined in a ukulele class. We learnt two chords and then a silly song that we played along to, then had to go outside and play to an audience. It was a lot of fun!
We also went along to a Bollywood dancing session run by a lovely man. I did join in for a bit and Anya took terrible pictures of my very large bottom! I haven't got a copy of that but do have one of the instructor.
Maybe a few more pictures tomorrow.
