Last night my knee was troublesome so not a lot of sleep. Up early to get ready for catching the 7.40 am but into Hull. Tipping down with rain and when I got to the bus stop realised that I had my indoor glasss one indoor because the coating has fragmented so I use them in bed or doing the garden, but not as a rule when out and about. But too late to change that. The bus usually takes about an hour and ten minutes, but not today. We hit traffic and crawled along for a few miles and then the driver stopped by another bus that had an ambulance alongside and all th passengers from that bus piled onto ours, that was already pretty full. The journey ended up being over an hour and a half, but that wasn’t a problem timewise as I had over an hour before the train anyway. Although it was still raining I went to Debenhams and got a cute little suit for my great nephew who I will meet this week.Had a drink and then caught the first train, so far so good. I couldn’t understand my ticket for the second train as it mentioned Derby, I found out that I had an extra change at Derby but didn’t know what train I would be catching, at this point I was feeling rather stressed. I had my itinerary so knew what time it was supposed to arrive at Tamworth so managed to find a tail worker to ask. Had less than ten minutes to be to the train on a different plantform, but he did phone across to say I was on my way! Then when I got to Milton Keynes to catch the fourth train ther were two leaving at the same time, to th same destination! Managed to pick the right one. So five trains and nine hours later I was in the car with Hazel, still raining!
We have had a good natter and I hope I will sleep well tonight, my knee seems a lot easier now which is good.
What an epic day! A lot of hassle but it’ll do you good to have a change for a couple of days. Just a shame you have 5 trains to look forward to on the way back!
ReplyDeleteLove that little suit, it’s really cute.
Enjoy your time with Hazel, and I hope the weather brightens up a bit for you while you’re there.
Nice not to be going anywhere near a train for a couple of days!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for slightly better weather, but I am sure we will enjoy some time together whatever the weather.
What a journey enjoy I do hope you managed a decent sleep xxx
ReplyDeleteDid sleep pretty well thank you. X
