It was damp and quite cold this morning but I walked down to the sea front, took some pics and walked straight back, didn’t stop for a drink and just called in the bakers on the way home.
We had an early lunch as Tina had to go off to take a service. It had brightened up a bit outside and we have had plants waiting to get planted out for some time, so thought I would give it a try . Took the long handled trowel! Worked on two small areas, it is very muddy out there.
I managed to get all the waiting plants in and did a bit of hoeing, but couldn’t do a bigger area as lots of the bulbs I put in are just showing.
Tina saw some snow and took this great photo.
I cut out some trapeziums this afternoon but must do it in daylight as using the transparent cutting guides and sharp blades needs good light! The materials are fab, should be a funky quilt!
Sitting here reading earlier I could hear this rather sad crying noise, thought at first it was the seagulls on the chimney, which I can hear when it is quiet.
But then realised it was Pandora and thought she was poorly but she appeared at the door with a feather toy in her mouth, it is on a long handle, she obviously wanted to play! We played for a while and then I went down to tell Tina she had been cute and she carried it downstairs to play some more!

Will finish with a word again this evening.
Sitient (adj.): In need of something to drink; thirsty.
The hats definitely suit you. Was there a particular reason for trying on hats, or did the fancy just come over you?
ReplyDeleteThe seafront does look a bit miserable today. But that’s the joy of living so close to the sea, you get to see it in all seasons and conditions. I’d love to live by the sea.
The garden really doesn’t look inviting. I think very muddy is an understatement. Think quagmire would be a better word. But you can see the difference to where you’ve been. Invigorating and uplifting as long as it’s done in small doses.
Yes, daylight is a definite must if you’re working with sharp things. I know what happens when you’re let loose with sharp knives! You’ll need all your fingers to operate the new sewing machine, and you wouldn’t want blood stains on a new quilt 😊
That was cute of Pandora to bring the toy to you. Bet that’ll become a regular thing now.
I feel a bit sitient, so I think I’ll go make a coffee.
It was actually Hat Day on the calendar, so that set me off on a hat hunt!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn’t usually get that muddy down under the trees, we wondered if it is because ai put bird food down there in the morning and fox food in the evening, it has also been pretty wet for a while. Nice to get a small part livened up a bit and plants in where they should be and not in little plastic pots getting pot bound!
I should have realised that from the title tonight. Not observant am I?
