Today has not been a particularly good one so will start with a pretty boring morning photo to set the tone!
The house has very large overhanging eaves and the bench out the front has spent a lot of the time this year awash with rain water. Today it has frozen which made a change!
I did do some piecing of the quilt and had, I thought, got six half blocks assembled. More of that later.
I spent the afternoon in the kitchen, I had bought some cheap over ripe bananas yesterday so made two banana loaves, haven’t tasted one yet but the look and smell okay!
Then I made a chicken pie, been a little while since ai made some pastry but it turned out really well. Forgot to take a picture!
The day hasn’t been good because both of my knees have been quite painful today, putting it down to overdoing the walking so haven’t been out for a walk today except for a quick nip to the shop for caster sugar!
I will be watching Throw Down soon but thought I would lay out the half blocks together to give an idea of what they will be like. Should have had three blocks, not actually sewn together but laid together, except , although I thought I had been SO careful two of them are wrong! The green one is okay, the other I have some unpicking to do, but not tonight!
Oops! This quilt is going to be a long time in the making!
That’s a cracking day. They must have been scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with that one!
ReplyDeleteThat is a boring morning sky for you. You usually have some really spectacular ones. Glad to see you get normal pics occasionally like the rest of us.
Definitely wouldn’t want to be sitting on that bench today. But we have serval inches of snow here at the moment, so it looks like you got off lightly.
The loaves look nice. Doubt they’ll last very long. On your feet in the kitchen for any length of time isn’t exactly good for the legs, but definitely good for everyone’s tummy 😊
Oh dear, that is a big oops! Unpicking that lot will drive you nuts. Good job there’s no rush to get it finished!
Sitting with the ice packs this evening, with a dressing gown on top of my clothes to keep me warm!
