When I went out to feed the birds the sun was catching on the windows of houses at the other side of the park. The photo didn’t pick it up but still quite an interesting shot!
I went to the bakers quite early and at the end of Willows Close the sky was lovely with the front in the foreground.
I went out for a walk, bumped into Sarah and David so walked further than I had intended and have had a really painful non operated leg all day now! But a couple more pictures of the sea.
This afternoon I have sewn together the rest of the triangles to the trapeziums, I will get the seams pressed open before Casualty.
When I went to put the fox food out I went across to the plants in the old garden cart that I decorated. The plants are taking rally well and soon the new leaves will be opening.
We loved that cart, the replacement has been a real disappointment! I put the fox food out when it was still quite light and the seagulls came down and were eating it so went out again as it was getting dark and replenished it!
Now a silly photo featuring one of my window crows!
I will finish with a word today.
Salamander ( n.) A flaming hot iron or fireplace poker.
Whatever two national days could it be? Not sure I can work it out 🤔
ReplyDeleteThat house with the sun reflecting looks like flame are shooting out the upstairs window! You’ve not noticed a strong smell of smoke during the day?
You’ll have to try to take it easier on your feet. You should put a limit on your steps and if you hit it while you’re away from home ring one of your carers to pick you up! 😊
The quilt is getting there piece by piece. It’s just there are a lot of pieces! It’ll look good though.
You’ve had that old cart a few years. It good I got a second life after all the good service it gave. Shame the new one isn’t so good. Don’t give the replacement a second life, just unceremoniously dump it when it conks out.
You could do with a person standing over the road as it would be about the right size to fit in the crows beak.
Another use of salamander, apart from the obvious is a type of grill they use in professional kitchens. Blimey, I knew something 😊
That would be a great picture, may have to get a stooge for that one!
DeleteThe handle of the new cart broke but have managed to repair it with strong tape, it isn’t likely to have a long life span, and will definitely be taking a trip to the tip when it goes!
May do some more to the quilt tomorrow and not so much walking!
Well done on the obscure word knowledge!
