New Year’s Day

A happy 2021 to everyone, let’s hope things will at some point return to being able to see people again, but still remembering that at the moment safety comes first. It has been a bit of a strange day but more of that in a bit. I will start with a pretty unflattering picture of me on my way into the sea last New Year’s Day! And the a couple of other shots taken this week a year ago.
Remember when crowds like that were allowed?

Those rocks were on the beach at Mappleton. Tina and I had a very chilly walk along there a year ago!
Blue was sick last night and during the night so Tina phoned an emergency vet in Hull this morning and I kept her company on the drive in. We had to wait outside and a nurse collected Blue and took her in, saying there would be a wait. We were sat outside quite a while and then the vet phoned
Tina saying they would like to keep her in as space was dehydrated and on a drip and they wanted to do various other tests. So we set off home filling the car up with petrol on the way, lunchtime by the time we were home.
Took a picture of the vets and a tree, inspiring stuff!

I got dinner for five, as the vet was phoning about six. She did phone but they wanted Blue to stay in for a few more hours so they are collecting her at eleven this evening.
Now to the calendar, tomorrow is National motivation and inspiration day! A word as well:
Coffret (noun) A small container; a box or container of small proportion.
Forgot to mention that Tina has been feeding the birds since I had the operation and doing a stirling job, but today I went out and managed to do it myself, I had been a little concerned about getting in and out of the greenhouse but managed fine.
Onward and upward!

  1. Well I certainly hope things start to get back to normal this year. It’s been a ridiculously long time now and at the moment things seem worse than ever! It’s a plot to ruin my retirement, I know it 😊
You should do the dip in the sea next year to celebrate a bit of normality, if there is any, and having a fully working new knee.
That’s a beautiful pic of the church. I remember it from when you took it. You do have some cracking pics in your albums.
Really sorry to hear Blue hasn’t been good. You were lucky to find a vet today I suppose. Bit of a drive and wait though. Hopefully she’s all better when they go to pick her up later.
You’re gradually managing to do more of your regular jobs now, but don’t go over the top and do too much. Plenty of time to get back into the swing of things.
A coffret sounds like a small coffin, and judging by the description it could well be!

    1. A bit of an odd day, but nice to be slowly getting back into the swing. Check up on Monday, I imagine I will be discharged. Still can’t get motivated to be too crafty though, maybe soon, perhaps I am missing gardening!!
