Wild goose chase

I suspected the worst today as I had a bad night with aching legs and a sore throat making me cough, but nothing seems to have got worse during the day and I have actually been more active today than for the last week. I wanted to get some more material for the quilt but the shop wasn’t open first thing. I walked down again a bit later as there opening has been a bit erratic lately. But still closed so I caught the bus up to Freeport and the craft outlet. They do have material but nothing that was right to back the quilt. I walked home and went straight back to the sewing centre but it was still closed. After lunch with Tina I went down to the Crafty Coffee shop to look at ther material but nothing suitable, even went into the Factory shop to see if they had a sheet that would do the trick! There isn’t any real need to finish it quickly but I was hoping to get it assembled so that I could sit and do the edging at the craft group tomorrow.
This afternoon I did some batch baking of cottage pies, I have been a bit remiss of late so thought I would get some freezer meals ready, also meant that tea was made for this evening.
This evening I have been to have a chat with a friend which was enjoyable.
Haven’t taken any more photos today but got this lovely one of hyacinths in an email.
Best go and sort something out to take to the craft group tomorrow now.

  1. There aren’t many days when you’re not active, regardless of whether you feel ill or not! It’s good to hear that today hasn’t been too bad though. Quite a few steps with all the back and forth walking. Shame you couldn’t get the material, but better to wait until you can get exactly what you want rather than make do with something not as good.
The cottage pies look very nice, and I’m betting one of them also tasted pretty good for tea. I do like the dishes you’ve used too. They look a good size and nice to have the little handles.
A full day, and a full evening too. Hope that means you’ll get a decent night sleep tonight.

  2. Those dishes are Sainsbury’s ones and I was only saying to Tina earlier how good they have been, and they have been used a lot.
Hopefully the shop will be open tomorrow and they will still have some of the materialI want!
