A day of gardening

Nice weather and a day in the front garden. I started to weed the large front bed as best I could. Was just going to do the front of the bed but in the end carried on to do the whole thing. Not brilliantly but looking a lot better. I didn’t clear it completely and removed endless Spanish bluebells again. They were very deep, below the digging done by the HUG volunteers. Took a picture of the bed and a few of the bluebells to show just now long the quilt parts were below the surface!

Had a break and sat in the summer house, a picture from where I was sitting of the colourful flower bed.

This afternoon Tina came out for a while and did Stirling work clearing some of the plants that had grown through the gravel.

A busy day but we can definitely see where we have been!

  1. It does look nice, so well worth the effort you both put in. Those bluebells certainly do go very deep. Hope you managed to shift a few bags of then again today. They’ll be taking over Hornsea soon! I have to say that I envy your view from the summer house. I think I could manage a couple of hours out there with my feet up looking at all those colourful flowers.....as long as someone kept me fed with tea ☕️
Is that Darren I see lurking behind the Rev? Hope you gave him a hoe or a fork if it was!

    Darren did make tea!
Lovely to sit in the summer house and enjoy looking at the results of last year’s efforts.
