I love gannets!

This morning I went to Bempton Cliffs with Sarah and David. We were there just after 10 am and had to go in the overflow car park! The albatross is still in the area, it had been seen this morning but had flown out to sea. Plenty of birdwatchers there in the chance they caught a glimpse of it. We didn’t, but no worries, saw plenty of gannets which I think are majestic birds. Those pictures a bit later, the first one I took was of a crow, and quite what happened to the photograph I don’t know! It is weird, like I took it twice, but parts are in focus, any suggestions happily received. It was quite a small crow!
Looks like two birds on top of each other! Now a lot of photos, but not as many as I took!

This one is my favourite of the day.

David and Sarah heading back to the visitors centre.
We had a drink before making our way to Eastfield garden centre where we had a look round and then had a light snack.
Pandora was happy to have me home!
This afternoon I sorted the paints out and went into the garden. Quite a while since I have tried any sketching. I did drop a pencil and later a brush when my hand went numb and Blue jogged the easel a couple of times, but at least I did put pencil to paper, so to speak!
I will go and do some watering when the sun goes down a bit.

  1. Looks like you had a good time at Brampton. Hope it wasn’t too hot for you. Shame you didn’t get to see the albatross, but I bet a lot of the birdwatchers didn’t either. The picture of the crow is really weird. I can’t see how it would’ve happened unless your camera took a double exposure. It actually looks like two birds. Weird.
Lots of lovely pictures from there. I love the one of the gull on the slope, and also your favourite one. They’re all good though. It’s a great place for taking photos, and luckily you live so close.
Pandora is always happy to have you home, you know she likes her seat!
The watercolour is really nice and it looks just like it should. You’re a clever old stick really!

  3. A good day and going early we were leaving as it became really hot. A nice walk along the cliff tops and so many birds, a perfect place.
The sketch is recognisable which is a good start!
