This morning I took some photos in the garden this morning before going to see Bel, the elderly lady. The poppy pictures all have the same bee in, it was having a great time going round the edge getting covered in pollen.
A bush at the front of the front garden is flowering, we cannot remember it flowering before.
After lunch I went out with Carol for a bit. We went to Beverley as Carol wanted to go to the dry cleaners. We did go in a couple of charity shops and I went into Paperchase. Just took one picture of St Mary’s in the distance.
Then we went to another area in Beverley and had a coffee. I got myself a silly sign in the Baytree Interiors, they had a sale.
Think it applies to Pandora rather than me as she is cute!
This evening I went out for a bit with the strimmer. Think I need to put knee pads on before doing a rough area like this!
The ground of the lawn is very uneven and the mower just flattens the tufts down and doesn’t trim them. I tried the area near the greenhouse and the strimmer did manage the tufts well, now that I am more confident using it. Was going to try some more areas but had to put it on charge.
I think we have rain forecast tomorrow, but if it doesn’t arrive I will do a bit more.
Sounds like quite a good celebration day today!
ReplyDeleteYou do get some great flower pics from your garden. The poppies are great. I really do envy you for that. My garden is just grass and weeds!
Seems like you spent more time out and about than gardening, so that’s always good 😊 Yes I know it has to be done to keep it looking good for the pics you take, but it’s too much hard work!
Beverly is a nice place to go. Always looks pretty when I’ve driven though it. Like the very appropriate sign you bought. It does sound very much like Pandora, considering she often tries to take lumps out of you!😊 Where’s that going to go?
You’re supposed to wear protective clothing, glasses etc for strimming. You wouldn’t be able to move with it all on though. The health and safety people would have a field day! Looks like you did a pretty good job with it. The lawn looks a lot better “de-tufted”.
Well if the rain we’ve had this evening moves up to you then I don’t think you’ll be gardening. In fact you might be building an ark instead!
Might get used to all this gadding about! Will just have to get off my backside more often in the evening and get in the garden. Watching the little bee in the poppies was a delight.
DeleteThe deluge hasn’t arrived yet!
