Darren and I saw this clock at the Gift Company a couple of weeks ago, today I caught the bus up to Freeport to buy it! I have already got it on the wall that faces the end of my bed so that I will see it every day as I get up. A ridiculous clock and not great for telling the time, but I love it! I also went into the newly refurbished Poundstretcher shop, very modern and spacious now. I had a drink there and got some bits at The Works then walked home. I haven’t been doing so much walking for a while and was really struggling today, even had a rest on a bench!
After lunch I did go out into the garden for a bit, first of all I cut down the large sunflower head and have wedged it into a tree. The seeds are not completely formed so we will see if it gets pecked at.
There is a self sewn sunflower in one of the beds, I supported it as it has been very windy and it is opening now, a very pretty bed.
I did do some gardening had to doge the showers but got quite a lot of the pansies I have left into the ground, and tidied it up and cut back some dead plants. Didn’t take a before picture but will take one of the bed anyway.
Had to remove quite a lot of leaves as well, it is that time of year!
The jigsaw is now ready to go on the wall, I sealed the edges this morning to make sure it doesn’t begin to fall apart.
May watch a film I have borrowed this evening, will comment on it tomorrow if I do decide to see it.
That’s a brilliant clock and a perfect thing to look at first thing in the mornings. Maybe it’ll remind you that you are in fact retired and stop you doing so much! But I doubt it 😊
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower is huge. I bet the squirrels will be having a go at that. But whether birds or squirrels it should make for some good pics.
The garden is looking so bright and colourful now. So different to when you first got there. Looks like you got a fair bit done today too. Hope you’re not overdoing it.
Adding film critic to your list of hobbies now 😊 I look forward hearing about it tomorrow.
I love the clock! Making me smile already......
ReplyDeleteThink that is probably the biggest sunflower head I ha e grown, it is pretty heavy!
Actually tidying the garden and cutting things back this year, so getting there.
About to check out the film.
