Red sky at morning, shepherds warning!

Darren knocked on my bedroom door before he went to work to let me know that the sky was quite dramatically coloured this morning!

It was soon fading, but still lovely.

I spent a couple of hours finishing the jigsaw this morning, was quite convinced some pieces were missing, but I was wrong! I took a photo earlier and it was terrible so this one is after a coat of varnish!
Most of the rest of th day was taking up with cooking, we had a lot of eggs that needed using. The clearing away takes almost as long as the cooking, well, it seems that way anyway!! I made a sponge, some cranberry scones and a quiche, did make the pastry!

I am out for a couple of hours this evening but looking forward to the final part of A Confession later.

  1. What a fantastic sky! Worth getting woken up early for. You definitely need to catch one like that but down at the beach.
The jigsaw looks nice. Those white pieces really must have been a nightmare to do!
Cooking too. Don’t you ever stop? I have to say it all looks very tasty. A nice slice of that quiche followed by a large slice of the cake would be very tempting! Bet I know what Darren will be having in his pack up tomorrow 😊
I’m looking forward to A Confession too. It’s been a great series.

  2. Surprising how long a batch of baking takes, but quite enjoyed it apart from the leg ache!
It was an amazing sky, and I think it had probably dulled a bit by the time I got to see it.
I need to think of a place for the jigsaw, that won’t be easy!
