Those pieces were bonded onto the different coloured materials and then the pattern had to be traced and transferred onto the gingham. This morning I got the pieces bonded onto the gingham and that is all that is in this first issue. The embroidery cottons to decorate it come in the second issue. I have subscribed for now, you can cancel at any time, but at the moment I am quite keen to carry on.
Darren took me to the garden centre so that I could get normal compost and indoor plant compost to repot the coffee trees. Also got about eighty pansies to do the autumn hanging baskets and brighten up the flower beds.
While we were there we looked at the furniture that was on sale. I took some photos to show Tina but will just post a couple, this one because it amused me!
And this one because I loved it although even reduced it was pretty expensive.
A very low, but gorgeous foot stool.
I did some weeding when we got home just in case the forecast rain arrives.
After lunch Tina and I went to the Floral Hall to attempt to give blood. We have both been turned away for different reasons in the past. This time my iron level was okay and Tina was already donating when I went across. All was well to start with and then there was a problem, they said I had a haematoma forming and my arm was quite swollen as well. The session was stopped and lots of pressure and advice followed! This will stillclunt as a donation on my records as it wasn’t my fault! Two to go to get to the magic fifty!! No heavy lifting etc for the day and keep an eye on the arm, so nomore gardening today!
I have repotted the coffee trees, the tallest one is now about twenty inches! They were quite pot bound so if they are happy they may have a growth spurt!
Not doing a lot more today, visiting Sarah and David for a bit later.
That quilt square looks a lot bigger than I expect. Very nice though. Will they all be that size or will that be like a centre piece?
ReplyDeleteThat’s a lot of pansies, but then you do have a lot of garden. Good job you had a chauffeur today. The foot stool is very different. Bet the cats would love that!
You really don’t have much luck with giving blood, but you still persist which is good. Only 2 to go for the magic 50. You’ll get there in the end. Well I hope so as it would be a shame not to after all this time. At least it stopped you from gardening, so not all bad 😊
You soon won’t be able to see out that window if the coffee plants keep growing. I assume they can never be planted outside at all, even in the greenhouse? They’re a great foliage plant anyway, so great to look at.
Enjoy your evening out, and I hope the arm doesn’t give you any bother.
That is the block size I think. Not all characters, some will be pattern blocks with different materials so it teaches you quilting methods. There are other projects in the books if you want to diversify! Ooh, shouldn’t have eaten that dictionary!
ReplyDeleteThe arm feels okay at the moment and the swelling has gone down a bit. Won’t take the padding off for a while yet.
Not sure if the coffee trees could go in the greenhouse, I guess I would have to get a heater if I decided to try it.
