Tappen Zee Bridge

Last night I developed a bit of a sore throat and a cough so Lee took me to the pharmacy this morning to get some lozenges. They are definitely helping. Kate and Mark have both had colds but I do suffer with sore throats anyway.
Last night I thought I would try the cheap watercolour paints and Kate set me a challenge of some tomatoes and a herb in a tumbler! Not one to resist a challenge I gave it a go.
Late morning we set out for Sleepy Hollow, but there was no parking and we didn’t see any signs for any attractions so we drove on through Tarrytown and to Irvington. We had lunch at a Well know and popular restaurant called Red Hat. We were able to get a table outside and had a really lovely meal.

It is by The Hudson River with great views, especially of the newly built Tappen Zee Bridge, the old one was demolished last year.

A couple more family shots.

We had a short walk in a park alongside and got back to the car before the drizzle turned into heavy rain!

We had a bit of a rest when we got back and then had a game of Scrabble! That board has never seen so much action n!
Sitting quietly now and off to see Janis Ian in concert tonight.

  1. Well you’ve definitely not sat about too much while you’ve been there, apart from by the pool that is. You’ve kept busy, and kept up the crafting too. Nice painting by the way. That looked like a nice trip out. Shame you couldn’t park up where you’d intended, but they have such nice sounding places out there, and it’s nice to see different things. Red Hat restaurant does look pretty busy, so you were lucky to get a table. Hope you had something really delicious.
    You’ve had some good picture opportunities while you’ve been there. What great places they have to visit, and a great family they are.
    Hope the Janis Ian concert rounded the trip off nicely for you.

    It was a good trip and the show was a great way to finish the day. Mor about that in the next post. That will be the last one from this side of the pond! :-{
