Toy exhibition and giant snowdrop bulbs!

Today Tina and I went into Hull, she wanted to upgrade her phone, I wanted to check my contract details, we planned to go and see the Bagpuss and Co exhibit in the Ferens and then buy plants from the stall at the station. We went to an out of town shopping area first as Tina wanted to look for something her sister in law wanted at Poundland. That shop was closed but B & M and Hobbycraft weren't, so we ended up spending more than we planned! Once in the town we did the phone shop visits and then walked through the town to the gallery. There is a new memorial sculpture which is impressive and it commemorates all the civilians that were lost in the bombing raids.

Looking through the slits it was lit up green, managed to sort of get the camera up close!
Then to the Ferens and the exhibition, a lot of fun really remembering the old children's programs.

A few more.....

And Tina with a Clanger and a great lego model.

And some rather creepy vintage toys!
We looked at  a few painting and I love this statue.
We have worked in the garden since we got home, Tina started me off getting out the giant snowdrops, then I got on with that while she cleared and tilled the bed at the front of the house. I didn't take a picture of the bed with the snowdrops in place but you can get an idea of how many there were from the pictures, one of the pile of removed bulbs and another of them trimmed ready to be dried.

We then got all the watering done, a busy end to a pleasant day.

  1. Looks like you had a lovely trip to Hull. The globe is funky and different.
Hobbycraft is a very hard store to go into and not buy anything. I don’t have anywhere near the number of creative hobbies you have, but I still find it hard to get out of one without buying something.
The exhibition looked really good. I love the clangers, but was never so keen on bagpuss. Great fun to go to though.
A bit of gardening to finish off the day too. Don’t you ever just rest? :-)

  2. It was a good trip, the weather was grey to start but the sun did make an appearance in the afternoon.
The exhibition was good and what a wonderfully creative pair to produce so many popular programs.
It is beginning to feel like we are getting somewhere with the garden, just as well as we bought more plants today and Tina ordered some on line today!
