St Nicholas church joining in the celebrations

This morning it rained and was really cold. Tina wanted me to take a picture of the church as a group of them had been out making sure it joined in with Le Tour theme. But I didn't take them then as it was really wet and I didn't want to mess up the new camera. Talking of new things I now have a proper smart phone, a Huawei P smart, Darren and Tina had to exercise all their patience with me last night while we were getting it up and running! They have also now linked in the Fitbit that I got for my birthday so I am now seeing how many steps I am doing. Just over 8000 up until now today so have a way to go before I reach the 10,000 target!
I went to the shop this morning as the home made ready meals in the freezer were running short, also got something to get dinner for us all this evening.
I patched the greenhouse door again last night but couldn't find the masking tape so just used the tape from the night before. This morning they were nowhere to be seen, but luckily they had blown inside the greenhouse and weren't littering anywhere. The new fittings should arrive soon.
Tina was meeting some friends at the garden centre for lunch so I went along and did some shopping, needed smaller hanging basket liners but ended up buying considerably more. I took it all out to the car and then I joined Tina and her friends for a while. Just took one picture of a bee resting on a flower, it was using zoom as I couldn't get close, so not as clear as it might be.
By the time we got back it had stopped raining and was quite bright so I walked along to take some pictures of the church.

Well done everyone. Took a couple of pictures of local shops as well.

This afternoon I have made cottage pie and lasagne for the freezer, four portions of each, and made a chicken and mushroom pie for out dinner. My ankles were aching a bit, standing is worse than walking for making me ache.
Last night I put the audio book on and managed to do about fifteen minutes on the Twist and Shape, so will listen to a bit more tonight, not sure if I will manage quite so long, but every little helps as they say.

  1. Bet the house smelled good with all the cooking. It is tiring though being in the kitchen for any length of time. You tend to be on your feet most of the time you’re in there. At least you do have chairs in yours, so can sit down if you want, or need to. But you’ve got to eat, so a bit of home made cooking is always good.
The church looks really good. I’d quite like to go up on the roof where the flag is. I bet you could get some good pics from there.
It’s very difficult to go shopping, specially in a garden centre, and not buy more than you go for. I’m guilty of it almost every time I go into town! I’m sure it’ll all add to making the garden look great for the summer though.
Hope that Fitbit isn’t encouraging you to do more than you should. Take it easy.

  2. It did smell good, in fact a visitor to the house this afternoon commented on it. I have got some ingredients to make a casserole to freeze as well,so will do that tomorrow.
#the bikes up on the roof were made especially by a guy from metal sheeting. I think he fashioned the hanging brackets as well. I bet it is a good view from up there.
So much to see and be tempted with at any garden centre, but that one is huge.
The Fitbit does get you walking around a bit more, would be nice to get to the target!
