Park and mere

This morning I went for a walk, had been going to go round the block but cut into the park and in the end had most of my walk in the park. Some fantastic old trees and lots of open space. The skate park is coming along well, they have been working on it for quite a while now.
A few shots from around the park. Plenty of dog walkers out and about, but so much space, like a heath, that there is room for everyone to enjoy the space.

Lovely strutting crow.
One arty shot.
I came home and got on with the little baby vest and listened to some more of the audio book. I got up to change the disc and a certain young lady decided my chair was the place to be!
I finished the vest and sewed it up, have started on the beanie hat now.

This afternoon was the monthly Scrabble group get together, I walked there and saw this wonderful hand sized flowering plant.
I had been talking to Tina about a garden ornament of a rabbit/hare in the rather fancy shop a couple of doors down the road. When I was getting my tea Darren came in with a bag and they had bought the best one for me, it is a beauty.

I watered the gardens and then sat and watched the first episode of the new series of The Doctor Blake Mysteries. Then I thought I would walk up to the mere again, didn't go right to the footpath as it was too cloudy for a sunset, but the clouds and sky were pretty attractive.

Getting late now so will close. Weather permitting I may get some gardening done tomorrow.

  1. Some really nice pics today. The park does look huge. I’ve only ever seen it out that landing window, but it looks a lot bigger than I recall. Great place to walk though, specially early on in the morning. I like the funky pic. The dark and the light and the colours all work well together. I doubt I would have noticed it myself. You definitely have an eye for these things. The evening pics of the sky are really good too. I know I keep saying it, but that camera is so good for low light shots. There’s still a lot of detail in those clouds.
Brilliant rabbit/hare! A lovely surprise present. Looks like a Hartley to me. Now that definitely is an old tv program!

    1. The park is really quite lovely, it had all been tidied and they have some of the outdoor exercise equipment which I might have to try some time!
The skies and clouds were very attractive and I really love the rabbit/hare.
