New technology at the charity shop! And coffee plants.

Being aware of my need to walk, thanks to the Fitbit, I had a twenty minute walk before going to the charity shop. When I got there a notice on the door said it was closed but there were people inside. The notice referred to yesterday as the new till was fitted and they had begun their training. Lots of changes, different ways of labelling everything and different again for Gift Aided items. Tracey and Elaine, the manager and assistant manager were being trained and were really struggling with the whole now set up and high tech till. I was in the back hanging clothes ready for steaming and pricing books, cds and dvds. I think it will be a few weeks before they are ready to start training me so will be a backroom girl for a while.
Had lunch with Tina and did some household chores. Didn't do any gardening today as my legs have been aching, complaining at the amount of steps I am doing no doubt.
Haven't taken photos out and about today but have at last, I think, managed to move one that Tina took on my birthday to a place where I can get it onto the blog, so here goes.
Just thought it was a really nice picture.
I have mentioned my little, or not so little now, coffee plants before, but it is hard to judge from photos. Originally there were six tiny seedlings in this tiny coffee cup.
All eight are still going strong and it must be two, if not three years I have had them. Two in each of three pots, but the two largest ones are now like this.
I really must get the smaller one in each pot into a pot of it's own, but they all seem to be healthy at the moment.
Will almost certainly be using the camera tomorrow.

  1. That Fitbit rules your life now :-) Seriously though, it’s really good to have something like that to give you a target to aim for. It’s turned out to be a very useful present.
That is a nice picture of you. You look really relaxed and happy. I’m surprised that’s a coffee in front of you though, rather than a giant hot chocolate with oodles of whipped cream overflowing the rim :-)
The coffee plants look a good colour and very healthy. Think it might be quite a few more years before you’ll be grinding your own beans though!
At least you did take some pics today, and I’m sure you’ll make up for it tomorrow too.

  2. I must admit that it doesn't exactly rule my life, but it has certainly got me moving much more. Hopefully it will help with the blood pressure as well as the improvement in my walking ability.
I am really chuffed with the coffee plants, never thought when I got them that they would still be flourishing this far along the line.
