I wrote a list of things to do while in the town, I was off to the monthly U3A meeting. I had letters to post and a package to send so post office first. Passing the park it is looking a little drier and a lot greener.
The town is really gearing up for Le Tour passing through on Thursday, I liked this shop window display. There is a competition for the best window.
I went to the post office and was surprised they could actually sort my dollars for America out, I had thought I would have to order them. I was early for the meeting so walked up to the doctors surgery to check my blood pressure. It is still high so I have made an appointment to see the doctor next week. Near the surgery this care home had done a great display in the grounds.
I walked up to the sea front, I love it when the sun catches the sea, but when you take photos facing the sun it turns out like silhouettes. I managed to find a bit of shade to take the photos from to get the effect better.
A few more pics along the front before I made my way to the Floral Hall.
It was lovely and clear this morning and as I got to the Floral Hall I could see the wind farm in the distance fairly clearly.
The meeting was okay, the subject of the talk was quite interesting but the three men giving the talk were not the most inspiring to listen to. I walked back along the front for a while afterwards, spotted this tree stump in the sensory garden.
It begun to cloud up a bit as the day went on, they were starting to appear as I got myself a pensioners fish and chips and ate it on the front.
I called in at the library on the way home and joined and have got myself an audio book to try. They didn't have a huge range so have got Poppy's War by Lily Baxter to try. I didn't feel too much like gardening and Blue made up my mind as she got on my lap and stayed there for about an hour and a half!
I have been out to the greenhouse this evening, have planted up two hanging baskets but leaving then in the greenhouse for now, and some sweetpeas into a pot, I grew them from seed, not too many survived and they have been outside for a few days now.
I am hoping Darren will get my phone up and running this evening and that I may even get to start using the Fitbit and Anya and family got me for my birthday.
A bright and a busy morning for you. The sea does look nice. Don’t think I’d ever get fed up of seeing it if I lived close to it. I’d probably take as many pics of it as you do too :-) I’m also sure I’d partake of the fish and chips on a regular basis too!
ReplyDeleteThey really do make an effort for tour. A lot of work goes into some of those displays. I think the shop window really is deserving of a prize.
Hope you get your phone sorted out this evening. You’ll be jogging round the garden once you get that Fitbit up and running :-)
Enjoy your audiobook. I tried a long while ago with some I got from the town library, but found they sent me to sleep, so I always missed most of it! Maybe I should try them again and hope for the same effect :-)
It is good when you plan to get a few things done and it actually turns out that way. I have only had the pensioners meal from there twice, but it is very small and very reasonable, so you can enjoy fish and chips without being too naughty.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't send a blank sim card but hopefully Darren can just use the one of my present phone, fingers crossed.
I wanted an audio book to listen to while I use the Twist and Shape, so hopefully I won't fall asleep as it could be dangerous!!
