I will start and finish with sky just for a change.
This morning I went up to catch the bus to go to the pool. It must have been the angle of the sun, but I have never really noticed the lovely coloured windows in the row of houses opposite.
After an enjoyable swim, twenty minutes with the pool to myself and another ten with a couple of youngsters in as well, I made my way to the studio to see Donna and to start painting a large piece of one off bisque. How she looked before I begun.
I spent almost two hours just making a start on the dress after I have painted it all over with a base coat of the skin colour.
Tina came to collect me and we had lunch in town and did some shopping. We were talking about the moors and we had heard that they are especially lovely this year. Tina drove us out, and they were indeed lovely, they would have been stunning had the sun been shining on the heather.
We toured around to Aidensfield, so a couple of pictures of Heartbeat cars!
We made another stop to look at the scenery on the way back.
So all in all a good day. My ankle is quite sore this evening but it isn't stopping me from getting out completely. The clouds were lovely earlier. There has been a sunset but those pictures will wait until tomorrow.
I saw a bit of a reddish sunset tonight, but had no chance of getting any pics as the trees obscure my view. But yours more than make up for it.
ReplyDeleteI have actually noticed those window before when we've stood at the bus stop, but they do show up more with a bit of son on them.
The new lady is going to look nice. Do you know how many ceramic pieces you've done since you've been going there?
What a lovely trip out this afternoon. The moors do look nice. I know there's not actually a lot to look at, but it's just the fact that they stretch out so far. I'd have loved to have gone to Aidensfield. I used to have an on old Ford Anglia, many many many years ago :-)
Really like the last cloud pic, very atmospheric.
The sunset was pretty good again tonight, it really has been tremendous this year, even on days when it has been rainy or cloudy, it often clears in time for the evening display.
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to see the expanse of heather covered moors, so near to the town really.
