When I got up the street was misty, that did soon lift and it became a lovely day.
I took some pictures of the very lovely fuchsias in the front garden.
When Tina and I were on Holy Island I bought three jars of different curds. Too good to just have on toast really, but haven't made suitable cakes to use any of them. Anyway, today I gave in and opened the ginger one and had some on toast, yum, yum!!
This morning Sandy collected me to go to the studio, I filled a few pots, just sorted out the ones that were nearly empty, and then I sat and painted the little mouse. The one that was brown and I painted it all over in white, and have now painted on top of that layer and hope it turns out well. She looks very sweet at the moment.
After a couple of hours in the studio I set off to catch the bus to the hospital. I was seen promptly and wish I had something a little more positive to report. The doctor was right, it is indeed calcified again. Apparently 'I have a tendency to calcify'. Mr Faraj did mention surgery again, but as this has only taken a few months to be much the same as it was before the surgery, neither of us felt that was the way to go. He said they could try a steroid injection, which his assistant did. I was very sore in the ankle and at the moment I cannot stand on it without considerable pain, but he did say it would be three or four days before the pain should ease a bit. Other than that, it seems it is something I just need to live with, no follow up appointments.
The sea fret was really rolling in when I got back to town, I made my way up The Grand to catch my second bus. Very eerie looking Grand today.
This is 'look no sea', although it is there, really!
Will finish with an arty one of the sun pretending to be the moon........
Bet the ginger curd is nice on toast. A good start to the day. And a mainly good day with a bit of craft and some nice if 'fretty' pics. The little mouse is very cute, and you’d never think it started off that horrible muddy brown colour. It should go well with the other two and make a nice little set.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the hospital didn’t come it with any magical cures, it would have been good if they had. But you were pretty much resigned to having to get on with life as it is now. Hopefully the injection will provide some relief eventually, although it seems to be having the opposite effect at the moment! You’ll have to try to take it easy for a day or so to give it chance to take effect.
Really like the last pic tonight. The sun, the fret, and the camera at the bottom make for a very nice composition. Well spotted.
The ginger curd is really delicious. I am keeping it in the fridge, don't really like keeping stuff in the fridge but I don't want to eat it too quickly!
ReplyDeleteApart from the hospital visit it wasn't a bad day, I really hope the mouse turns out well.
Thought you would like the 'arty' finale!!
