Yesterday evening I didn't feel too well, a bit fed up, a bit sore and a terrible headache as well. Slept quite well and woke up in a good frame of mind. I was hoping to get the ankle corrected, but I know the score now, know that exercising and using it is not doing any extra damage, so now I will start to walk more, still slowly for now but get the legs moving and do what I can. I caught the bus into town as I had an eye appointment, got some Christmas gifts before going to the optician. My prescription hasn't changed much so will not get new glasses for now.
From there I walked up to the station to collect some tickets that I had ordered on line. Then walked on to an icing shop to see about hiring a stand for the wedding cake that I am making for Tina's service. I passed the station car park and took a picture of Oliver's Mount from there.
A bit further along there was a large silver lady model in a shop window, but the photo turned out great with a building reflection. Well, I think it is pretty effective.
I went along to the icing shop and it is closed on a Wednesday! Went across to Sainsbury's and had a light lunch and did some shopping. Then I decided to walk home, it is about a mile and I stopped for a cuppa on Dean Road as my legs were aching a bit. Walking down Tennyson Avenue I spotted this modern version of a milk float, haven't seen any mild delivery vans before since I lived up here.
I haven't done a great deal since I got home, but did a few minutes on the Twist and Shape. I have decided I have to make a real effort to get the weight down, less strain on the ankle, but that is easier said than done! May watch George Gently in a bit.
Glad you’re feeling upbeat about the ankle. Not much good feeling any other way I suppose, so definitely the right way to go. Might actually be the cure you’ve been looking for for so long. As you usually say, onward and upward.
ReplyDeleteThe reflection pic is lovely. I often look for them but rarely see a good one. Particularly like ones in very still water, but that doesn’t happen too often in this breezy country!
Can’t remember the last time I saw a milk float. I can’t imagine there’s much call for them nowadays. The cost of actually having it delivered would probably be more than the milk itself! Having said that I’ll no doubt see one tomorrow just to prove myself wrong :-)
Still water reflections are good, but as you know, it is rarely wind free up here!
ReplyDeleteThe milk float took me by surprise, like you, can't remember when I last saw one.
I am hoping my positive frame of mind stays with me, not much point worrying about something I can't change, so best change the attitude to it!
