Likin' the lichen!

I will start this with pictures of moss and lichen so that the heading makes sense. They were taken when we were at the Lindisfarne Priory on Tuesday.

Lots of the priory, but a couple for now.

A view from the grounds.
Weathered stonework.

Some pictures from inside the parish church.

Tina is quite tall so it gives a good idea how big these wonderful sculptures are.
Yesterday we did some shopping on the island as I mentioned and then went to Seahouses, today some pictures of that trip.
Looking at the birds as we waited for the catamaran to arrive.

A cormorant and a great black backed gull. heading out ans a shot from the trip.

Tina took the camera for these, she is taller and there was a rush for pictures!

One as we left the lighthouse behind and headed towards another island.

More great Tina shots, I could get nowhere near enough to get a good picture without heads more than seals!

Then heading back to shore.
We walked down to the harbour last night and went and saw the angel of the north on the way home today. so more pictures, but not today, also have things to mention about our successful shopping.

  1. The pictures were definitely worth waiting for! Some lovely shots in there, and Tina isn't a bad hand at it either :-) It really does look a wonderful place to go, with lovely stuff to see. Perfect for a few days away. Bet you'll be tempted to go again. The boat trip looks very exciting. You should have pushed through to the front to take pics. Use the 'little old lady' card, it can work wonders :-)
Looking forward to some more of the same tomorrow.

  2. Would love to go again, and staying on the island meant that you were actually there when it was pretty quiet after all the trippers had left so as not to be abandoned there!
