Bit more Hornsea

I will begin with a collection of photos from the day out yesterday.

As I was checking photos yesterday evening I could see the changing sky.

I had planned to have an easy day today, that has changed somewhat! The lawns were reaching jungle proportions, didn't take before and after pics, but take my word for it that the garden waste bin is now about half full of grass cuttings. Whilst emptying one box of cuttings I heard the door bell. Ever thought you should just pretend you imagined something? It was the man to read the metres. I said 'Oh wonderful'!! The electric metre wasn't too bad it is in the cupboard in the hall, but the gas metres are in the porch which meant moving a collapsible bike, a hand mower, roof rack rails and garden tools as well as a collection of tools! He helped me move them out but I put them all back. He said as he was leaving that he wasn't surprised I had rolled my eyes when he said who he was!
When I was clearing away after doing the lawns I saw that the roof over the tool cupboard not oly had weeds on it but a flowering buddleia!
I came in for a cuppa and a rest but really couldn't leave it once I had seen it. Best not to ask how the roof now looks like this!!
It needs a bit more attention, but I did get the roots out of the drainpipe and flushed it out with hot water.
I went down to the surgery when I had cleaned myself up and made an appointment to see the doctor and see if the x-ray shows anything. First appointment isn't until the 12th September. They are booking in flu jabs as well so did that while I was there. Then I went to the shop, got one of their meal deal offers and took a slow walk up to the cliff top to eat it there. There was a speed boat enjoying the calm sea.
After a cool start it  had been a nice morning, over the castle it was still bright but over the Sealife Centre at the other end of the bay you could see the bad weather approaching.

I thought I would make my way home as I had washing out on the line. Passed the front garden at the top of the road that has fabulous sunflowers.
I got back and the washing in before the rain arrived. Haven't done a lot since then as I have been feeling quite tired. It has brightened up now, so maybe there will be sunset shots tomorrow.

  1. I really like the look of that little museum. I hope it gets lots of visitors as it deserves to. Bet it wasn't too expensive to get into either.
You really did end up having a busy day, considering you were going to take it easy! How did you get up to that shed roof to clean it? I'm sure the answer will make me regret asking it! A good job done though.
Nice skies over the sea, and nice sunset skies too, as usual.
    Bet you'll sleep well tonight.

  2. Begins with L and ends in R, the small one wasn't high enough but the one behind the shed was! I will do a review about the museum tomorrow, it is very reasonable. £3.50 adult, £2.50 concession, and once you have been, like Ryedale you can go for the rest of the season! Should sleep well, feeling quite tired now.

    1. You are a bugger! Don't think you should be up and down a ladder with a bad ankle and knee. I might report you to health and safety, as I bet there's an EU ruling against it :-)
That's a bargain price for the museum. I really should go in the one here sometime, as I've not been for a long time. Don't think it's as interesting as that one though.
