Tina and I went into Bridlington last night to see The Fureys at the Spa theatre. We had fish and chips for tea near the theatre, very tasty. There was an art exhibition of in one of the rooms at the theatre and there were some very good paintings on show. The Fureys were great, played for over two hours, they are fantastic musicians and they encouraged the audience to sing along as much as they wanted to. It was a lovely evening, and we weren't home too late.
Looked like a lovely morning out so thought I would take a walk to the glen with monkey nuts and bird seed to see what I could see. They are doing repairs on the bandstand in the park in readiness for the summer season.
The daffodils and heather were bright and cheerful to suit the weather,
Maybe this duck was thinking 'shall I, shan't I' as I have seen then water slide before!
The water levels are still very high, so the falling water is much more spectacular this year.
Did feed a few squirrels but dogs and shouting children kept most of them away.
I walked up the shady path on my way to where I might see some robins.
Passing plenty of running water on the way.
I did see some robins, a blackbird and a blue tit, plus of course plenty of pigeons. This robin came for some seed.
Caught this one landing, more by luck than judgement!
The mahonia is coming into bud, always a good sight.
I did some quilting before getting dinner, and have layered it up ready to do the quilting pattern this evening. I am really liking this one but not going to post a picture until it is finished. I have a little way to go yet.
Fish and chips, and a knees up, sounds like a perfect Saturday night to me! Bet you had a good laugh with Tina too.
ReplyDeleteThe park looks really nice. It's surprising what a little sunshine can do. The robin picture is very good, and you should never admit it was a lucky shot.....its skill :-)
I still haven't got around to buying peanuts to feed the squirrels in my park. I've seen quite a few lately as its only the odd dog that scares them off. They don't have to compete with pigeons either, like yours do!
It was a good night, and as you say, the park is lovely any time but the sunshine makes it even better.
