This morning I put a load of washing through and generally pottered before Darren and I set off on our journey to Etwall near Derby. The weather was murky again in Scarborough but began to improve as we travelled along. I took a picture from the car, the hills in the distance were still misty but the sky was brightening.
We had lunch at a McDonald's on the way and we arrived at the auction house at about 3.30 pm. Took a picture of a poster with Charles on as we walked to the entrance, was quite excited to be there!
Had to have a photo outside the entrance, not exactly like Tim but in the same place!!
We spent ages looking around, it was a bit higgledy piggledy inside. Charles and another expert were filming, so did get to see him which was good. The sale has over 1000 lots and will go on into the evening, I fancied things quite high up so may have to bid on earlier stuff, although Darren doesn't mind if we are later. I have a form to fill in so that I can get my number in the morning. The hotel is only a few minutes away and very big and very nice. We have a balcony so poor Darren had to take another photo!
We will have dinner here and relax for the evening.

  1. Not a bad trip then, and it'll be worth it when you get to sit in on Charles's auction tomorrow. Just don't go mad bidding, because Darren's car isn't huge! I've seen that sign behind Tim on bargain hunt so many times, I actually quite envious of you getting to go in person. The hotel sounds nice, and a balcony too, now that is posh!

  2. Good meal and now maybe a little swim, and it will be little as I forgot my goggles and I cannot swim with my head out of the water!
