Haven't been out at all today, except into the back garden. It was interesting when I went out there as there was a trail of blue fluff heading towards both of the drains!

It is amazing that the throw looks perfectly okay still. The underwear that I put it with it has a blue trim round the seams, I think I will be reminded of this little mistake for some time yet! I did some baking, the jam tarts were fine, the sponge wasn't again. I am at a loss, as I have made sponges with no problems for 50 years or more! This afternoon I thought I would finish the jelly roll quilt. I had to cut the strips for the border and join them together. Had forgotten about joining and mitred corners, so watched an instruction video. Still struggled with the joining of the ends and had to unpick it a couple of times! Then spent over two hours hand sewing the border down, but it is now finished and I think a very attractive quilt.
Darren and Tina were home at lunch time so will be in my own bed tonight. Going to watch Vera with them later.

  1. Sorry, had to chuckle when I saw the fluff pictures :-)
The sponges are a real mystery. I'm convinced it to do with being further up north. You're closer to the ice cap, so need a few extra degrees on the oven! Perhaps northern chickens don't produce eggs that are conducive to cake making. Or perhaps I just don't have a clue what I'm talking about, as usual :-)
Love the quilt. You should definitely be proud of that one. You should never get cold up there again!

    1. Can see the funny side of the fluff now, took me by surprise when I went out though! Getting a collection of quilts, have two more to finish off.
