This morning it was dry, bit dull and cold, but not quite so windy. I had about 70 pages left of the Lee Child book I was reading so decided to go to the hut, have a drink there and finish the book. Only a week left now so must make the most of it. I walked through the park on the way, took a picture of the pagoda in winter.
The mahonia berries.
And a stray couple of mauve flowers still on a bush, I wonder if the ice will come and finish them off before too long.
I did finish the book, a bit gruesome, but grippingly written. Will go back to the last Liane Moriarty book I have left to read now.Tidied up a bit when I got home, then made lasagne for dinner. Now have started a soft toy pig kit that Tina and Darren bought me longer ago than I care to remember. That is the trouble with sorting stuff out, keep finding things you meant to do!!
Some time ago I made a little patchwork tortoise using the hand sewing machine. Well, it has become a pin cushion and now looks more like a porcupine!
I have made a start on the pig, head sort of done. One of the ears is on back to front, but that's how it is staying, will make him unique!
The Voice and Casualty later, so best get a bit more of the pig done while I am in the mood.
Shame you don't have long to go at the hut, it's been great to have though, and although it's a bit chilly, I think it's been a good time of year to have it. Reasonably peaceful there without the throngs of holidaymakers!
ReplyDeleteI like the pig, even with odd ears! As you say, he's unique.
Stopping for now, arms and legs sewn together! Raining again now for a change!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Isobel will love the pig on her next visit. May be you can get the hut at a reasonable price around September, the holiday people with kids will have left and the owners will be pleased with the extra income.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice to have one again next autumn, may ask about it when I give the key back. xx
