Yesterday evening I tried to piece together a small squirrel toy with every piece in a different material. This is a bit of a bodge as the instructions weren't very clear, but I like the idea of finding a different pattern and trying it out again. I have left my little mobile in the picture to give an idea of the size.
I am cat minding, and he was  a bit poorly in the night so had some clearing, but nothing too bad, the fun started when I went down to empty the washing machine. I had bunged everything that was a bit damp from the hut, along with some clothes last night. The blue throw shed enormous amounts of fluff, many times worse than leaving a couple of tissues in your pocket. I was horrified, not only by the thin layer of blue over everything but of the seriously blue covered washing machine as well!! A picture of the fluff first swept, but there was much more, like a film over the kitchen rug!
Not the best of starts. Mike suggested putting the drier on and that actually did remove the majority of it from the rest of the wash, but it was still all stuck round the rubber of the washing machine. Ah well, pretty much sorted now! I walked up to the craft shop, I didn't actually do any sewing there, but have a bit of work I can get on with it and Annabelle has said she will email me the rest of the instructions for the charm pack quilt. I went in and saw Sandy for a bit and have arranged to go and do a bit of painting there on Tuesday when it should be quiet. Came back, had a bit of lunch and let the cat have a cuddle for a bit. Then, even though it is ridiculously windy, there were wheelie bins blowing around earlier, it was also sunny so though I would take a walk into the glen and see if there were any squirrels about, so took the monkey nuts. The pagoda was looking good and the water was running as I went by, it is quite often turned off.
No squirrels around when I entered the glen, but it was beautiful there because the water levels are up.
I walked on further into the glen, there were mini waterfalls all along, and it was loud as the wind was echoing like thunder in the valley!
I continued along the path heading towards the garden pond near the cemetery.
I was enjoying the walk today so did get as far as the pond.
Took this one on my way back down.
When I got back to the lake there were squirrels around and I had an enjoyable time feeding them. Two or three were scampering up my trouser legs to make sure they got some more nuts! Managed to get a couple of good pics today.

I did wander down to the sea, nearly got blown away and at one point steadied myself holding onto a lamp post! The wind was catching the waves and moving the sand.

  1. Quite a varied day, some good, some not so good! You'll laugh about all that fluff one day....maybe! At least the cat is sort of behaving. Considering the really bad weather we've been expecting, I think we've got off reasonably lightly, up to now. It looks like a lovely Spring day in your photos. Love the one of the squirrel facing you. A few peanuts and they're anybody's:-)

  3. The squirrels look so cute but can do loads of damage. The glen always looks attractive.
My tumble dryer is one of those re-called, the engineer is due Tuesday to do a modification. All these things sent to try us.
