Yesterday evening I got the pencils out and tried a sketch. Very crafty this year so far, but no resolution to be so!!
It was a grey miserable morning and my mood was much the same as I had an unsettled night. Decided to go down and see the hut and the sea. I went through the park, these swans were heading my way, obviously thought I had food for them!
I love the twisted willows, seems a shame when they are cut for flower arrangements.
I also love these little black and white ducks, can you feel the love? Obviously I needed to be out and about even though it was a wet grey day. When I got to the hut I couldn't open it, so went back to the office and they sent a man down with an oil can and a bit of brute force! The sea was grey and choppy today, I did try and get some idea with watercolours, not my best effort, but an effort at least!
I decided to walk back the slightly longer way through the park and passing the open air theatre. Took these two pictures of the birds on the sea as I made my way there.
It began to rain really hard as I made my way back so I was drenched by the time I got indoors. This afternoon watched a film on the Now tv and then decided to blitz the bedroom. I want to reduce my belongings but ended up shifting all the furniture around and trying to discard a few of the storage boxes. Best go and get on so that I can get into the bed later!!
Nice sketch of Isobel, and definitely a very good likeness. The sketch of the sea is good too. Not easy to catch the look of the sea, specially in watercolours.
ReplyDeleteGlad you weren't permanently locked out the hut. An oil can or a WD40 spray is a man's best friend, we'd be lost without them! All that salty sea air plays havoc with locks.
He was a nice chap, hopefully it won't be quite so stiff next time!
