A spooky day!

This morning I went our to the banking hub early before Darren and Tina went out. Tina for her haircut and Darren to Burton Constable to help set up for the archery ‘have a go’ day. I needed to be back so we didn’t miss the Ringtons man. When  Tina got back we set off for Beverley, we were meeting Darren for lunch as he was having his flu jab in the Boots there. We had a very nice lunch in a little cafe, nice staff in great costumes!
Then I went with Darren when he drove back to Burton Constable to help. I had a walk round the grounds, took some photos of Halloween displays and did a sketch.
I thought of sketching these trees but decided photos would be better!
It was cold sitting in the wind but managed to do a sketch.
A couple more photos on the way back to the archery area.
I went and got take away drinks for myself and Darren, it was lovely seeing him help a little girl trying archery.
I helped with the packing up and then we drove home. I have fed cats and hedgehog and don’t intend to do much else!

  1. A busy day for you then. Always nice to get out for lunch. Never seem to do that myself, it’s usually breakfast 🙂 I think the staff of the cafe look great. Definitely in the spirit of things. I’d go there.
Some great Halloween displays at Burton Constable. I like the giant web and spider 🕷️🙂 A lot of effort gone into displays there. Halloween is getting bigger here all the time.
It is good to see Darren helping out like that. Maybe the little girl will be another member soon.
A quiet evening sounds like a good plan. Will you stick to it though? 😊

  2. A busy day but enjoyable if a bit chilly.
I think the children that visited Burton Constable had sheets to go round and find things in the displays. There were lots of families there enjoying a spooky day out.
The ladies on that cafe are very friendly, the pirate went and grabbed her parrot when I wanted a photo!
