Wet morning and then surprise trip out

I went and did the usual shopping and despite the drizzle I swept up the mess on the pavement outside our wall. We had a large lavatera overhanging but also lots of leaves and berries on the pavement from a tree. With the wet apart from looking a mess I was worried that someone would slip on them.
When I came in I worked on finding the edge pieces of the jigsaw. Getting the edge done as harder than I thought and I had missed a couple of pieces.
I thought the rain was going to be around all day so decided to sketch the pumpkins that Tina has all over the kitchen table!
The weather brightened and Tina suggested we went had a trip to Filey Bird Garden. Lots of pics, quite a few Halloween based!
That pair of macaws were sat together the whole time, fascinating watching them chew through the branches and then preening each other.
One more photo of the sky as we left.
Will finish with a hedgehog update. I haven’t seen it or them but the food had gone this morning so I am hopeful that they re still about.

  1. You are very good for sweeping the pavement in a case anyone fell over. That’s the difference between you and me, I would have left the leave and set up a camera to catch it 😂
That puzzle does look like it’ll be towards the hard side. More of a challenge for you.
I really like the pumpkin drawing. That book is going to be a lovely thing to have when you finally fill it.
Some great pics from the bird park. I like all the Halloween setups. They really have gone to town on them and put a lot of effort into it all.
Not a bad day in the end. Plus it sounds like the hedgehog might still be around 🤞

  2. They really had gone to a lot of trouble with the Halloween stuff, I didn’t take them all as nearly every enclosure had something.I think thy had sheets for the children to fill in and tick off what they saw.
The pavement looked messy and potentially a hazard, I would have thought the people living there should clear it up if I saw it somewhere else!
I was pleased with that drawing and the little book is already nice to flick through.
