Different pottery day

This morning I left a bit earlier to do a sketch on the way to the pottery. Got the perspective a bit wrong but will post sketches whether I am happy with them or not! Not going to spoil the book by removing ones I am mot too happy with!
Pottery session was partly good and partly not so enjoyable. I used the underglaze pencils to draw on a bowl, so it will be interesting to see how they come out when fired.
I helped with unpacking some new stock when Caroline notices a small crack on a gingerbread house and asked if I would paint it as a sample. Wasn’t overly keen and it didn’t get finished as it is very fiddly. It has windows on the sides and back too. I will finish it next time, maybe!
I walked home as well, so keeping the steps up this week. I went for a walk into the park, had the sketchbook with me but didn’t fancy drawing more trees!
So sketched a wine rack instead, not that pleased with that either!
Will finish with the news that when I peeped in the box while putting the food out for the hedgehog, it was in the new box, so that is a nice note to end on.

  1. You are way too hard on your artistic abilities. I personally think both sketches are very good, and as to perspective being slightly wrong, I didn’t notice. I’d be happy to possess the level of ability that produces the ones you don’t like 😊 The gingerbread house looks very fiddly to do, but the bit you’ve painted looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see that one finished and fired.
All in all a very good day for your artistic talents, even if you don’t think so 🙂
Great news about the hedgehog 🦔🙂

  2. Thank you for the vote of confidence, the little book will have quite a variety of subjects.
I will finish the gingerbread house next week unless Caroline has clay work she wants help with.
I was really pleased to see the little hedgehog.
