It rained hard in the night and with wind as well it was really horrid weather this morning. I went down the road to post a letter and get some milk in for Darren and Tina who will be back this evening. I had a bit of a stressful time then, I thought I had booked a Christmas delivery spot for veggies, but when I went on to order some veg for tomorrow it became clear that I hadn’t actually saved the slot. I tried to phone Rafters but had no signal! So left that. Then Ringtons arrived and it appears I paid too much for my hampers, I will take it up with him next time he calls, then when I went to pay my debit card wasn’t in its slot! Not that it mattered in the end as he didn’t have a signal either! Luckily there was some cash in the house. I was off them for a mad debit card hunt, couldn’t find it so went on line to see if I could cancel it that way. At first it kept telling me to go into the app, I haven’t got it! Did eventually find where ai could enter my details and got it stopped, only to immediately see the card was caught behind a seem where it should be, oops, too late! Angela had said she would call for me at ten to take some stuff to the tip, luckily she was a bit late. So we packed the car up and had a very helpful man at the tip.We then went to Hornsea garden centre where I treated her to a breakfast sandwich and we had a good natter. She dropped me back at lunch time and I did a few chores.
Haven’t been snap happy today but have a couple of pics I would have put in on Tuesday and one I took of a tee shirt I got in a charity shop yesterday.
The peg crosses were along the path at church at the weekend and looked good.
The mahonia is looking lovely.
And the tee shirt!
The weather eased off for a while this afternoon so I put some bottles into the trolley and took them up to bottle bank at Tesco, so fifties in a walk of sorts!
Visitor day tomorrow so may not be walking much as Jean is coming here for a change.
It has been a really horrid day here too, with very little let up, so you were lucky to get a couple of breaks in it for a bit of a walk to the bottle bank. Very satisfying throwing the bottles in and hearing them smash 😄
ReplyDeleteNot a good morning with all the stress over the missing card. Damn nuisance that you’ll have to wait for a new card to arrive, but better safe than sorry.
Wonder why everyone was lacking a signal this morning. Maybe the phone mast was playing up. Always the case when you need to make calls to sort things out. Hope you do manage to get Christmas delivery slot. If not it’ll be a tinned vegetable Christmas 😊 Tinned veg are pretty good these days.
Maybe the Ringtons man needs a calculator for Christmas!
Glad you actually got the tip run in. I didn’t think you’d manage it with the weather we’ve been having, but obviously someone up there is being good to you. Not in the case of delivery slots, lost cards and being overcharged though 😊 But one out of four isn’t bad I suppose.
The peg crosses do look nice along the path like that. I love the T-shirt too. You should get Darren one 😊
Hopefully tomorrow goes to plan and you get an easier day.
I was a bit stressed bits alls well that ends well and the rest of the day was okay despite the weather.
ReplyDeleteIt is still pretty horrid out tonight, hopefully it will improve by the morning. I will go to Bel’s if it is still raining.
