Loved this cycle shelter at Peterborough station.
Lots of emergency vehicles and a road blocked off as the bus set off for the hospital.
In the hospital grounds I presumed these were hire bikes.
Had a lovely couple of hours with Margherita, I had two puzzle books the same so that we could work through a large puzzle together. We chatted and nearly finished the puzzle, and then I left one of the books with her to finish. The bus out of the hospital was painfully slow to start as it was the end of visiting time and there were hundreds of cars and traffic lights just outside the grounds! At the train station I had to rush to catch the next train to Doncaster only to spend the next hour and a half sitting in it at the station. There had been a fatality on the line further up the route and the tracks were closed in both directions. When we were moving it was more stop than start, so I was on a train at 5.15pm and got in with Tina collecting me at Hull, just before ten! Did take this pic of a floodlit football ground on the way back!
Quite weary now but really pleased I decided to go.
An early start to a very long day of travelling. But nice for you to get to see Margherita. You still managed to get a good selection of pics even on what was quite a boring journey. The Voi bikes are all over the place. I think you can hire them and dump them wherever your journey ends. I’ve seen a few ripped to bits and the oiks travelling around on them too!
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to rain most of the day today, but it actually turned out quite nice in the end. Helped make your journey a little better.
Glad you had a nice visit with Margherita. I bet she was surprised to see you walk in? I bet she also told you off for making the journey to see her 😊
Shame the train back was so delayed, but good of Tina to collect you from Hull.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a more sedate day.
It was a long day, and not one I will repeat too regularly, but hadn’t seen Margherita for a while so well worth it.
ReplyDeleteThe weather being better than expected meant that I was able to get a bit of extra bit of walking in, although I did a fair few steps yesterday which are a bit of a challenge!
Visit day today, so definitely more sedate!
