Mostly gardening

I haven’t been out at all today and have spent a good deal of time outside in the garden. The plant near the back door which has its buds in a sac and then becomes bells has opened and it is among the Christmas tree!
I started out the fron as the main bed was in need of some attention and that is the one that people notice as they pass the garden in the town.
I filled the garden cart and wanted to get to the garden bin, the path is still quite clear to the bin but the plants at the side meant I was getting attacked from all sides! So getting on with clearing that was the next priority.

I had the new plants that need putting out, also had some angels wings that I had grown from cuttings and a geranium that survived the winter. I removed some plants that were smothering the smaller one, hoed and weeded and then for the other plants in. Not a lot different to look at, but I know that it was quite a lot of work!
I had some bird food deliveries today so spent some time sorting it out and into containers.
Jean came to visit for. A short while and we had a chat and cuppa. She was very taken with my little sitting room and all the stuff I have in it!
I have more or less decided what I am taking tomorrow when Darren and I head back to Peterborough. Looking forward to spending time with Lee and Rebecca on Friday.
This little guy was on the pavers earlier.
I got the hose out and have watered both gardens this evening, took me about an hour and a half which wasn’t bad going!

  1. It does look as though you’ve spent quite a bit of time out there. It is looking nice out the front though, and as you say it’s the bit the public see when walking by. I think it looks very impressive and would definitely praise the gardener 😊 Wouldn’t it be nice if you only had to titivate out there once a month or so? Yeah right! I really like those plants on the tray. Lovely colours.
Glad you’ve had a visitor too. At least it made sure you got a bit of a break.
Hard to believe you’re on your way back to Peterborough again tomorrow. At least you’ll be chauffeured this time. So much easier. It’ll be nice to see Lee and Rebecca. Hopefully your visit this time won’t be quite so stressful.

  2. I did pull the worst weeds when I was watering, the flowers needed the drink but the weeds seem to grow twice as fast with watering!
Being driven down will be good, a quick visit this time but a special one.
