Garden and family group

I have a lot of plants to get into the garden so went out with good intentions but ended up spending all morning before lunch edging and weeding and removing dead plants to make the beds in a fit state for new arrivals? I got all the way to the summer house so the biggest bed is now ready for some new plants.

After an early lunch I read for a little while and put some butter icing in a cake that had been in the freezer. The lady that makes the cakes for the family group was away this week so had made one last week which had in the freezer, it just needed filling and putting together, so took it round with me, a lively afternoon, about 18 children and ten adults.
After tea I went out with Tina as she wanted to get the car charged and get some shopping for the charity weekend she is helping with. The charger at Lidl wasn’t working so we went to Tesco where there was a charger free and working! We didn’t get the shopping in the end as it would have been cheaper in Lidl, we will probably do it onThursday. Took this photo in the car park as it looks like the car is keeping an eye on things!
It was gone eight when we got back and I had been quite busy today, so just made sure the new plants were watered and will hopefully get some into the garden tomorrow. This poppy had closed for the night but still looks good and the buds are great too.
I am getting towards the end of the third Shetland book and the fourth arrived today, I found it on EBay. So, back to the reading!

  1. Always lots to do in the garden, so anything you do is always an improvement. That bed does look very neat and tidy again, and plenty of room for a few plants, and maybe even a few bulbs 😊
How did the cake turn out after being frozen? I’m sure the butter icing was nice anyway. 18 kids and 10 adults, mayhem!
At least you got a little ride around this evening even if you didn’t get the shopping. You’ll have to get a fast charger fitted at the house. I had to look at the pic of the car a few times before I saw the eyes. Think I’m just too tired 😴
Maybe it’ll rain tonight and give the garden a bit of a soak. Never seems to when you really need it.

  2. Feeling tired myself and it has turned chilly again, it brightened up for a while this afternoon and was warm, but now it has dropped again.
Could do with it being overcast tomorrow to give the plants a chance, so it will probably be a scorcher!
