An evening with Boris!

Will start with an explanation of the heading, and a photo of Boris! Monday evening is when I visit Sarah and David and they are minding a friends dog this evening who just happens to be called Boris!
I had a bad night and this morning, after feeding cats and birds, making Tina a cuppa and having breakfast, I did the unheard of thing of going back to bed for a bit. I had an hour with Pandora on guard and then had a pretty easy morning.
After lunch I did go out into the garden for an hour or so, I needed to do something to lift my mood. I went out to do some cutting back, nothing too heavy, and I used the wrist supports I bought a couple f weeks ago and they were really good. The pampas grasses are in the bed in front of the summer house and needed cutting back, quite a jog with the large plant.
A fair amount of trimmings to clear up, cut back some other plants as well, the bed really isn’t too bad now.

Took a photo of the back bed as there are quite a lot of bulbs coming through.
When I was taking the trucks of stuff up to the garden bin I walked round the front garden and we do have some snowdrops appearing.
I managed to get Sarah onto WhatsApp on her new smart phone, she was quite chuffed when I phoned her on it and then sent her the picture of
Boris!

Lovely day for a walk at Burton Constable

The sky was pretty when I was out feeding the birds, would have been lovely if I had got myself down to the sea! I haven’t been to the front early for a while, must make the effort!
We didn’t go down for breakfast today as we were going out later. We left about eleven to go to Burton Constable. Had a drink with Darren in the cafe before he went off to the archery competition and I wandered off for a walk. I decided to walk down towards the lake this time, did that walk once about three years ago. It is across a large field and it looked lovely when I got to the water.

The moles had been busy!
Another shot of the bridge and one as I headed back through the field towards the house.

I passed this tree on the way to the orangery.
Sat inside the orangery for a while and did a pencil sketch, challenging perspective!
I was asked to present the prizes again at the end of the archery competition.

Took a picture of the sky as we were leaving and then a Peterborough sky thanks to Mike this time.

Back in time to get dinner and now a relaxing evening with a couple of programs to look forward to.

Bit more active today

I went to the shop reasonably early for lunch supplies and a bit later, after the shopping had arrived I ended up walking along Newbegin a couple of times as I had gone out with out my debit card the first time! I have thought of trying CBD but thought that it wasn’t compatible with my blood pressure medication, but reading through all the info again it seemed okay.  That was reinforced by the man in the local shop that sells the capsules as he is on the same medication and has been taking them for some months. So I went back the second time to give them a try, a months supply so we will see how it goes.
My knee wasn’t so painful today so despite the wind, which was pretty ferocious today, I thought I would try and walk up to Freeport and get the bus home. I took it steady and had a light lunch before coming home on the bus. I was the only passenger wine the bus set off then a man got n with his dog, who was so well behaved and had lovely face. Whe he had moved about he was good at untangling himself from the lead, it made the journey interesting!
I had been going to do some quilting this afternoon but my wrist was aching so although I got the machine ready and had changed the needle didn’t use it in the end as I didn’t want to aggravate the wrist.
Tina has organised an Icon Painting course to take place in the parish hall. I am interested and will be attending if there is space after church goers have had the chance to apply. It will be very limited numbers so I won’t know for a while if o have a place.
Darren is attending an archery competition at Burton Constable tomorrow so I will go along and have a walk round the grounds there. We will probably go to Lily’s for breakfast as well so it will be quite a full day.

Veggies, picture and knee!

Bel came round for a cuppa and chat this morning and we had a good old natter. She was telling me how tired she was when we got back from our painting session on Tuesday. While she was here my veggie box arrived. Lovely as usual and there were some cherry vine tomatoes as well.
At lunch time the man from the framing studio phoned to say the picture I was having framed was ready. It was a picture that has been in the shop for a long time, I have hankered after it for a couple of years now. Very pleased with how he has framed it.
The air turned blue this afternoon when I decided to move pictures around and get it hung! Impossibly hard walls and reaching behind the tv on the steps made it a challenge. Pandora gave me a very wide berth!
I ordered a different knee support and have worn it for a few hours today seems to be reasonable.
Enjoying a bit of tv this evening.

Checking out the food hall

After Ringtons had been today and a package Tina was waiting for had been delivered we went into Hull as Tina wanted to go to the food hall as I had told her about it when I had looked in last week. We had lunch there which was good,m pictures of us waiting to be served!

After a tasty lunch we had a good wander round and bought a few bits. Lots of Italian food, different pastas etc and baking and sweets aplenty, and of course masses of alcohol and various bars. Really quite upmarket so it will be interesting to see how it is received.
When we were heading back to the Prospect Centre where the car was parked  it was closed and there was a fire engine nearby! So we found a new cafe to have a cup of coffee in as we couldn’t have a hot drink with out meal.
Took this not overly inspiring photo on top of the car park when we could get in, it shows the top of the St Stephens Centre which is quite unusual.
We stopped at Lidl on the way back. My knee was painful today so I sat in the car while it was charging and Tina went into the store. I was sitting there minding my own business when suddenly the heater triggered into action! I tried texting Tina but got no reply, oh well, the car couldn’t blow up as it doesn’t have petrol! Tina was amused when she got back as she had set the heating remotely in case I was cold!!
Haven’t done a great deal since, resting the leg as it was actually making me limp a bit today. The sky had pretty clouds so will finish with them.

Seeing Bel in the morning, but no other real plans so if the leg is still sore will find something to do indoors.

Morning sky and a walk on the trail

More pictures than chatter this evening. I slept reasonably well by my standards of late but am very weary again this evening. My right knee has been painful today but I still decided to go for a reasonable walk, albeit a pretty slow one today! Apart from that, a few chores and some emptying sacks of bird food in the greenhouse I haven’t done much else. So I will settle for morning pictures of the sky, followed by pictures from the walk. I did see the sea but it was much the same for usual so didn’t take any pics of it today.

I haven’t been long the trail for a while so it made a change. You always get to see dog walkers whatever the time of day. A few cyclists today as well.
We may go out to lunch tomorrow if Tina is feeling up to it, she is getting pretty tired by the end of the day as she eases back into work.

Painting and tech help!

I have been out a good bit of the day. Bel picked me up at ten and we went to Freeport. Bel only had a stick with her and the walk to the pottery place was a bit hard going for her, but we were in no hurry and she had a couple of rests on the way. It was pretty cold so we sat and had a drink before we chose out pottery to paint. Bel chose a rabbit, there was a sample one near where we were sitting and she really liked it. I chose a petal shaped plate. I had take a pencil in case I wanted to draw a design but in the end just went for abstract. Then I wanted to add a word and then the plate required a bit of embellishment!

When we had been there for our two hours Bel still had another coat of painting to do so we asked if we could stay longer, the signs say it is a two hour painting session. The lady said we could stay as long as we liked, so we had some lunch at the other side of the building then went back to the painting table. I had almost finished so found a little mini set to paint as Bel still had quite a bit to do. I just did a bit of the fine detail for her and it was about 3pm by the time we were heading back!

I had a quick cuppa with Tina when I got home and then went out to see Sarah and David again. Sarah has been talked into getting a smart phone and is really struggling with it, so went round to help get her onto the internet and get the mobile data turned off. She has someone else going to help her get to grips with it on Friday, but at least now she hasn’t got the stress of the phone gobbling up her data. Who’d have thought I would ever be giving anybody even simple advice or help with anything technical!!
I didn’t have a very good night again and it was surprisingly cold out and about today, so warming up now but feeling weary. No plans for tomorrow at the moment.

Bus into Hull

As I said yesterday, the desire to go to the pool has waned, for the time being anyway. Didn’t feel like hitting the road early either so decided to get the bus into Hull. Had nothing I needed but I walked to the Bonus Arena to get my bearings for when I go there to see Diversity. Not for a while yet, but looking forward to it already. When I got there I went into the amazing new food hall that has opened in what used to be a large department store. A massive area with all sorts of food and goodies and several eateries as well. I didn’t stay there today but will go and have another look round next time and maybe stop for a snack as well.

I walked to the Bonus Arena and it is actually quite easy to get to. Then I walked back and through the Prospect Centre and had lunch at the little
Coffee House. Then I had a good wander round St Stephens shopping area. I still had a bit of time before the bus to I took a walk heading out of the town for a change,

I pass this building with the graffiti on the bus and often wonder how they got up to the higher areas!
This building is pretty eye catching, was on the way back to the bus station then.
The other day I heard a Ricky Nelson song in a shop and ordered a cd. Have been listening to that since I got home, bit of nostalgia! The wrist supports arrived too so I have had one on my left wrist for an hour or so now. It feels okay, but whether it actually helps I will only know after trying it for a while.
I am visiting Sarah and David this evening and then there is a new drama series starting on tv this evening, so that’s the rest of the day sorted!
Off to do that pottery painting with Bel tomorrow so that should be good.
