When Ringtons had been I phoned Sarah and David as we were off to Spurn Point. Paul hadn’t arrived by then so I sent him a text telling him I had left the gate unlocked, as he was coming to make the wall secure for now. The drive to Spurn was a little tricky as there was a road closure on the route Sarah had planned and she doesn’t use a Satnav. But we arrived in just over an hour. We didn’t spot much wildlife but had a pleasant walk and I had some photo opportunities. The first one is from where we were sitting in the cafe.
We stopped at an Aldi on the way home and as I decided not to have a veggie box this week I bought a nice selection of fruit. When I got home Paul wasn’t around so I went down the garden to check that he had blocked the fallen wall. He has done a temporary job for now and will hopefully start the planned work on the wall soon now.
The garden bin was emptied this morning and we had several containers of garden waste, so I set to and starting filling it again, we could really do with it being emptied every week! I had a walk round the front garden to depress myself with the weed situation but was cheered by the fact that the tamarix is flowering.
When Darren came home we decided to go to the seafront at six and have fish and chips. Quite a queue but did manage to find a bend in the shade which was good as it was pretty busy down there. We enjoyed our food and had a little wander along the front. Just one evening seaside picture, wanted to catch the kite!
So a relatively busy day, doing well with the walking this week!

You have had a busy day today. Nice to get out early in the morning down to the beach though. You have some nice pictures on the blog tonight including those of the sea this morning. Lots of different views and different lighting. They definitely never get boring.
ReplyDeleteYour time out with Sarah and David sounded, and looks, really nice. A little detour thrown in always makes things a little more exciting too, specially when you’re not sure where you’re going. I think it should be law that everyone has a satnav!
The fence panel should help keep any oiks out of the garden for now, as a temporary measure anyway. Hopefully it won’t be too long before he comes to do the whole job.
What a great way to end the day. Fish and chips by the sea, specially in the nice weather.
Feeling weary this evening but it was an extra early start today!
DeleteWe didn’t get any of the rain so I think I will be watering tomorrow.
We took a gentle walk at Spurn as it was quite uneven ground, but it was a lovely open space.
Pensioners fish and chips, so not too naughty and a very good way to round off the day.
