We set off early for the boot sale, very busy again today. I got some audio books on tape, three classic stories, a sketch pad for 50p and my buy of the day, a nice cap for 50p, not that Darren thought it nice!
On the way back we went vis the sea front and had a hot chocolate.
After lunch I got the vegetables and fruit ready for cooking later. I watch a bit of the football but as it was overcast I did go out into the garden for a while. Watering the bed on the bank last night I spotted a lot of quite large weeds along with the small ones. The edges needed doing as well.
I went in for a bit as the sun came out and it was very hot again. Had a nice surprise as the lady from the bar next door had brought me some of the ginger ale I like. She gave me a glass the other day when ai was working in the front garden, when Tina saw her she said I was addicted to it! Will be now!!
I went out and finished off outside, a bit rough and ready, but the worst offenders removed, before I went in to get on with dinner.
Tina came out with me after dinner to do some watering.
My hands have been bad today, they ensure I get up early too! But managed to do what I needed to do so mustn’t complain.
I still have some plants to get in, maybe tomorrow!!
I’ve not watched any football, and don’t intend to either! I’m sure I’ll hear some cheering on the street occasionally though, although I haven’t up to now. Maybe not many England supporters around this way.
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to find some bargains at the boot sale today. The audio tapes are good if you still got a cassette player. I bet a lot of people have them lying about doing nothing. Wish I could listen to audio stories, but as I mentioned to you I just fall asleep! The hat is actually very nice, so I’m not too sure why Darren rolled his eyes as I’ve seen you wear hats that are way more “distinctive” than that one! 😊
Pleased you didn’t go too mad in the garden today, although the bits you’ve done look very nice.
There are some advantages to living next door to a bar, as those bottles should keep you going for a little while. I bet they taste lovely nice and cool on a hot day. Feet up in the summer house, bottle in hand, perfect.
Little by little getting round the beds in the garden, then it will be time to start again!
ReplyDeleteMay start listening to a tape tonight while I make a couple of cards.
Had one ginger ale this afternoon, a really nice drink, would be wasted as a mixer!!
