After lunch I went to visit a recently bereaved elderly lady who has no family support, I will go and see her on my own next time, went with Tina this time for the introduction. Then I went round to Marjorie and Tommy’s, they were having a little get together for Tommy’s birthday, it was windy and the ladies were having trouble trying to light the candles on the buns!
So they lit them inside and Tommy waited just near the door to blow them out!
Elena, who spends a lot of time with Majorie arrived after school.
I had livened up a bit bu this evening so did get most of the plants and the gladioli bulbs planted then watered both of the gardens. Took some photos of the flowers. We made lots of foxgloves this year but the pure while one is quite unusual.
Will finish with an interesting obscure word.
After-Wise (adj.): Pertaining to one who has gained wisdom too late for it to be of use.
It is a bit of a nuisance when actually being in bed keeps you awake, as like you say there’s no point in going back to bed! Does sound like you had a reasonable day though, and not too much hard work involved. Well not as hard as you normally do.
ReplyDeleteA street party, you don’t get so many of those these days. I think they should become regular things to encourage neighbours to get to know each other. These days you can live next to somebody for years and hardly ever speak to them. Shame really.
The white foxgloves does look nice, but I like the orange one below it. Can’t think what it is though, is it an Iris?
The word actually makes sense tonight. Says exactly what it is. Sometimes they just don’t seem to make sense at all!
I think it is a tiger lily.
ReplyDeleteThe little street party was very pleasant, made a change.
Feel a bit more human this evening.
