Last tests for now!

This morning I had an appointment to have X-rays at the local cottage hospital. I was expecting hands, feet and neck, but after yesterday was not sure what they would actually take as I was expecting all three yesterday but just had hands checked. I left in plenty of time so that I could take a slow walk as my legs were aching today. I am a walking wreck! I thought this house with the roses along the front looked attractive, quite old worldly.
As I was early I walked to the post box before going to the appointment. I was asked to sit in a waiting area and there was a fabulous decorated wall there.
A lovely lady again and she did take all three lots of X-rays. I then walked up to the sea, passing there three walled beds which I thought were lovely.

It was really quite cold by the sea, more like winter than the last day of June!
Tina was out to lunch today so I decided to have fish and chips in a restaurant and really enjoyed it.
Walking home through the memorial garden took a picture of this peony.
This afternoon I went into the front garden intending just to pull a few of the larger weeds, but ended up doing about two hours weeding and hoeing in the large bed in the front with the sign in. Didn’t take pictures but removed over a garden cart full of rubbish.
I was watching some tennis earlier and a Pandora got on my lap. She loves to stretch right done my legs, she is a weird cat in many ways!

She was wagging her tail well because I dared to move!
Have done a bit of tidying, another never ending task like the garden, but it is feet up for the rest f the evening.

Feeling weary!

For quite a lot of nights now the hands have ensured I don’t get a lot of sleep and I get up early! Today I think it was catching up with me and I actually went down to the reclining chair after I had fed the birds and had breakfast, and dozed on and off for a couple of hours!
I had a bath and just got my stuff gathered together for the trip to the neurophysiology department this afternoon. Tina was taking me in as I had to keep my hands, and I thought feet warm. We set off after lunch and we’re there a few minutes early but Tina found a parking place so I could sit with her for a while before going in. I was going to make my own way home as I had to go in alone and didn’t know how long the tests would be.
The tests were interesting as ai could watch the responses on the screen. The lovely young lady said that I had severe symptoms on both sides, symptoms to do with the nerves responses not being as they should be. In the end she only tested my hands and then I walked back into the city. A photo along Anlaby Road and one of men working on a building, then one of wall art which I think I have photographed before a good while ago.

I caught the bus home and was in before five. Haven’t done a great deal this evening, still pretty tired and the zapping has made my fingers quite sensitive and they are going numb again now.
Well done England, onward and upward!

Blast from the past

I haven’t been snap happy today, so will start with some pics from fourteen years ago in Ghana. Some of the money I raise to take with me went towards the building of a new kitchen area. The lads were put to work when their school day was finished,

And one from a visit to a craft area.
Today I spent a while out in the walled garden. I try to keep the weeds under control as when they get large and it is wet the frogs hide under them, and ai really would be hysterical if I trod on a frog! Only spent about an hour and cleared and rearranged the sitting area too. Pandora was the foreman/lady/person!
This afternoon I spent an hour or so with Carol and we had a coffee in the town and browsed in the Factory Shop. Then I filled in forms and sorted out loose clothing for my trip to the hospital tomorrow. Hopefully if I have loose trousers and wear a tee shirt they won’t make me wear a hospital gown for the tests!
This evening I visited David and Sarah and took David’s present and card round as they will be away on the day.
Very dead hand now so time to stop!

Gardening instead of boot sale!

This morning I went out into the garden to carry on with the he bed that I started yesterday. It was harder going as the t layer hadn’t been removed.
I worked for a couple of hours with a break in between. The roots from the first batch were impressive!
I just did the first turn over and will do another dig when I have done more weeding round the beds!
These toadstools were growing in another bed.

I took my book out and sat on the swing for a while after I had cleared away the tools, my little shadow was soon with me!

This blackbird had been sunbathing but I didn’t get the phone ready quickly enough. We often see the blackbirds stretched out on the lawn, which is a bit worrying!
I was watering the back garden when Tina and Darren got home so had a cuppa with them before watering the front garden. A lovely iris has appeared in the uncultivated area under the trees.
Some of the foxgloves have grown ridiculously tall this year.
There are more foxgloves fighting with the giant sea kale.
Not to be out done this is one of the beds in the front garden.
I went down to the leisure centre with Tina as she wanted to get the car charged, we had a short walk on the front and then came home via Cliff Road and the park.
On Cliff Road we saw the amazing tree, so beautiful with the dark leaves.

Watching a Marple now.

Garden photos

I had a bad night and felt tired and pretty unmotivated today. I went to the shop and then wrote a card and walked round to a friends to put it through her door. I did a couple of crossword puzzles and then decided to have my dinner at lunch time for a change. I took a walk round the garden and took photos as I didn’t think I would be taking many other pictures today. So quite a few, the garden has really begun to look established now.

I went round to see Sal and Carol at the hairdressers this afternoon as I won’t be seeing them at the boot sale tomorrow. I gave them a pet cushion for Millie and she wouldn’t sit on it to start with. But today, after she had sat on my lap for a while she went to it. She is such a cute dog!

After the link up with the family I went out into the garden for a bit. I tidied up the bed with the rhubarb in and then started doing the first turn over dig of the area that Darren and Tina had cleared for me a while ago. I had a break sat on the garden swing and was joined by both cats, one each side! Better that way as I didn’t want them fighting on top of me!

I turned the area they had cleared and got to the bit they didn’t clear which was very full of root. May try to finish it off tomorrow.
When I had packed the tools away I got a cushion and my book and went out onto the swing for a bit.
A bit of gardening has helped lift my mood a bit, just relaxing now and trying not to doze off in the chair!

Not a lot to report!

It was wet this morning which is good for the garden as it was steady rain and not too heavy. No watering today which is always good. Tina and I were both going out this morning and Darren sent a message to say a parcel he was expecting on Monday was now arriving today. After a couple of messages I found out that it was not due to arrive until we would be home. Tina went off to lead the ‘walking church’ group and I went to visit one of her elderly parishioners who has been recently widowed and has no family. We had a chat and a cup of tea and she is coming to visit me next week.
I was home in time for my veggie box delivery as well as Darren’s package. The box is great again, they are varied and lovely quality.
After lunch I went into the front garden for a while to remove little self sewn pansies that were growing in the gravel driveway.
I managed to remove them all with roots intact and planted them straight into the front of the large bed with the sign in.

The shopping delivery came today as Darren and Tina are going away this weekend. They are on their way now so I am home alone, almost, still have the cats of course!
