Short walk and housework!

Yesterday evening Tina cleared the shelves on the dresser ready for me to display some of the china, the plates and serving dishes seem stable which is good, the bowls would have crashed down it the cats had jumped up. I have ordered some stands so that hopefully I can display the bowls as well.
I wanted to go to the post office this morning. I saw Tina off first, she has gone to stay at her brothers for a couple of days. Then I walked to the post office, slowly but not too painfully so went up to see the sea. It was a little overcast and threatening to rain so I hoped that it wouldn’t be too busy as it was quite early. It wasn’t too bad, I did have a take away drink and sat on a bench for a bit before ai walked home. The sea was calm today.

Apart from going across to Countdown to get some Flash I have been indoors. Did have to go across twice as the manager was on the phone getting very agitated and that meant that his wife couldn’t use the card machine! He was on to the council, they have been told they can’t have all the plants on the pavement outside as it causes an obstruction. He was arguing that only being able to have two people in at a time was causing an obstruction with people lining up to go in! The pavement is very narrow outside their shop. Anyway his wife sold me a try of plants for the vicarage garden very cheaply as they have to get rid of them! I came home for some cash and he was still on the phone when I got back!
The rest of the day has been taken up with household chores but ai don’t seem to have achieved much, I know I have been busy though! I got dinner for
Darren and will find something to watch now.

  1. The China does look good on the dresser. It’s a great set. Will look even better once you get the bowls on there as well. On a different note, it must be a nightmare dusting all that!
Glad you got out for a slow walk. The sea and hot chocolate are two pretty good reasons to make the effort. The pics still look nice even though it’s gloomy.
Oh dear, sounds like the Countdown man wasn’t happy. These councils have way too many rules these days. Half of them contradict one another so you can’t win!
Household chores in such a big house soon add up to a lot! I’m sure you’ve achieved a fair bit, but as I said it’s a big house.
Hope you found something to watch and got your feet up for a while.

    1. I am really pleased with the china, totally unnecessary purchase, but it does look great on the dresser.
It wasn’t too busy by the sea and it was a bit of exercise for the knees. Got a couple of bits of shopping on the way back.
Housework is overrated, just needs doing again a bit like gardening!
