Bit of gardening, bit of baking!

I went it into the front garden again today for about an hour, worked on the big main bed removing bindweed and other weeds and use the newest hoe which I am really pleased with.also cut back the plants along the path by the front wall as it was getting a struggle to make it to the garden bin without being attacked by over grown plants! Had a wander down to the local shop, didn’t have to wait outside for too long, they operate a one out one in system and I was the first in the queue.
This afternoon I made some cheese scones and a few buns with white chocolate chips in. Some of the chips sunk to the bottom but they are very tasty. Made scones today as I will take a few round to Sarah and David’s tomorrow as it is his birthday.

Tina brought some jewellery home yesterday from one of her parishioners for me to use when decorating boxes. I only have a couple of small boxes left now so will have to order some bigger ones and have a play,
I walked along to the post box again this evening. The yellow plant I put the blog the other day was not in our garden but the churchyard. More are opening up now, I really like them, will try to find out if they can be split.
A couple of flower shots from the garden, I do like thistles but they are quite viscous!!
I have been trying to pick up the exercises a bit so the knees are not happy but will persevere for a while and see if it helps in the long term!

  1. A little bit of gardening each day is better than slogging away for hours on end every day!
I really must persevere and head to one of the bigger shops. I use the little shop next door to me, but haven’t made to a bigger one where I have to queue on my own. At least with the distancing I won’t have to talk to anyone 😊
I do like your cheese scones. They always taste better than any I’ve made or bought. Think they’ll go down well tomorrow.
Lots of bit to use on boxes again. You could decorate a big box with some of it, then store the rest in the box 😊
Thistles are great, they look good, and they protect themselves from the oiks!
Don’t go too mad with the exercises.

  2. The weather or the knee haven’t been great for gardening, but the two shorter sessions I have done have been good and not too strenuous.
I have ordered some boxes now, hopefully they will be here by the weekend,
I really like the thistles too.
